Introduction

Environmental indicators are a fundamental tool for decision-making aimed at


achieving sustainable development, having as general objectives:
Developing a methodological route that is used in the construction and maintenance
of indicators in Latin American and Caribbean countries, in the same way, it will be of
utmost importance to compile definitions that facilitate the elaboration of environmental
designs contributing to economic, social and economic relations. Environmental.
Quantify and qualify environmental problems that allow defining the environmental
objectives of a Project.
It is a process oriented to the identification of impacts in the development sectors, the
creation of environmental policies and in the formulation of projects.
Together, they are classified depending on their theme, thus being of vital importance
in indicators, which are grouped into two groups, being cataloged into statistical
groups, which relate strategies that are organized in a synthetic way, constituting a
variable that provides specific knowledge on a theme related to natural resources.
1. ¿What are the objectives of environmental indicators?
Carry out a system of national indicators, which will be undertaken by government
personnel who use activities to design environmental or sustainable development
indicators in countries that make up this region. Developing a methodological route
that is used in the construction and maintenance of indicators in Latin American
and Caribbean countries, in the same way it will be of utmost importance to compile
definitions that facilitate the elaboration of environmental designs contributing to
economic, social and environmental.

2. ¿What is the importance of environmental indicators?


They constitute a system of clear and timely signals about a certain environmental
process. Built specifically for users; Environmental indicators, as well as economic
and social ones, allow different actors and users to share a common base of
evidence and quantitative information, selected, processed, described and
contextualized. Thus, it is easier to objectify the processes that are pertinent to
consider when making decisions, intervening and evaluating. In turn, it has been
well used in various fields and for a long time, consider its use in the generation of
private companies, in the macroeconomic management of countries.

3. ¿How to use environmental indicators in the professional field?


Environmental indicators are classified depending on their subject, thus being of
vital importance in indicators, which are grouped into two groups, being cataloged
