The importance of heath to trainee teachers.

Teaching is the best job in the world because you could watch your students grow and

blossom. This is the life that feeds our heart and makes us want to get up in the morning and

repeat the same thing all over again but being a teacher requires so much time. This included

being trainee teachers. The “juice” were often squeezed out from the trainee teachers. This is

because of the overworked since most trainee teachers were given a lot of coursework with

minimal time since they also needed to attend programs that were held during the

commencing and submission date. I believe that health is important to trainee teachers.

First and foremost, mental and physical health both are very crucial in trainee

teachers’ life because they need to stay healthy to face their daily lifestyle. Physical health

consists of many components such as physical activity that includes strength, flexibility, and

endurance. Nutrition and diet which includes nutrient, fluid intake and healthy digestion. This

affects how active we are when going through our daily obstacle as a trainee teacher without

extreme fatigue and exhaustion. While mental health includes our emotional, psychological

and social well-being. This affect how we think, feel and act. This is very important

especially as a trainee teacher since we need to deal with our client later which are our

students and their parents later.

From this point, let’s get deeper on why physical health is very important to trainee

teachers. First, trainee teacher should be active on a daily basis. This should be a mix of both

structured exercise and physical activity because trainee teachers often need to shuttle from

class to dorm in a short time per day. Next points are nutrition and diet, a well-balanced diet

must contain carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, and minerals. Trainee teachers that are

restricting specific nutrients should be done under the supervision of a licensed health
professional. Fluid should be regularly consumed especially under the hot weather to stay

hydrated throughout the day. Meals and snacks should be consumed throughout the day and

the portion sizes must be sensible. This lower the stress within trainee teachers’ body which

could strengthen the immune system to avoid sickness that leads to absence. If a trainee

teacher absence, that could generate extra workload and disrupted curriculum since they need

to replace the class. According to the Health and Safety Executive, teaching is among the top

five affected by work-related stress. This would lead to depression, anxiety and burnout if the

trainee teachers did not take care of their well-being.

Next, let’s go further on why mental and emotional health is important to trainee

teachers. Emotional and mental health is important because it’s a vital part of your life that

impacts your thoughts, emotions and behavior. Being healthy emotionally can promote

effectiveness and productivity in activities like work, school or caregiving. It plays an

important part in the health of your relationships, which allows you to adapt to changes in

your life. Trainee teachers need to face people in a daily life basis. Thus, when someone is

not emotionally stable, effective communication is limited or non-existent. This contradict

trainee teachers’ requirement because they must communicate with others. Learning is less

likely to be positive if the teacher is under par. Therefore, Trainee teachers must take a good

care of their mental health and wellness because positive mental health allows people to

realize their full potential and work productively while making meaningful contributions to

the communities.

In a nutshell, there are steps trainee teachers can take to improve their physical and

mental health everyday to keep their performance on par.

Guru pelatih perlu menghadapi orang dalam kehidupan seharian. Oleh itu,
apabila seseorang tidak stabil secara emosi, komunikasi yang berkesan
adalah terhad atau tidak wujud. Ini bertentangan dengan keperluan guru
pelatih kerana mereka mesti berkomunikasi dengan orang lain. Pembelajaran
kurang berkemungkinan positif jika guru berada di bawah paras. Ringkasnya,
terdapat langkah-langkah guru pelatih yang dapat diambil untuk memperbaiki
kesihatan fizikal dan mental mereka setiap hari untuk memastikan prestasi
mereka setara.

Oleh itu, guru Pelatih mesti menjaga kesihatan mental dan kesejahteraan
mereka dengan baik kerana kesihatan mental yang positif membolehkan orang
ramai untuk merealisasikan potensi penuh dan bekerja produktif sambil
memberi sumbangan bermakna kepada masyarakat.

Ringkasnya, terdapat langkah-langkah guru pelatih yang dapat diambil untuk


memperbaiki kesihatan fizikal dan mental mereka setiap hari untuk
memastikan prestasi mereka seperti latihan fizik
