3.1 Chief Officer is responsible to the Master for all LSA equipment’s general condition 
     
3.2SOLAS
Third Officer is directly responsible to the Chief Officer for maintaining all LSA equipment.

Procedure
     
4.1Flag State Circulars
General
   
Maintain all LSA equipment following related legal guidelines. They shall always be ready for use
at once
   
Safety Equipment Certificate Form E states the LSA equipment to always keep on board.
     
All ship's personnel are responsible for telling their departmental head about safety equipment
faults.
 
Officer in charge shall correct the fault as soon as possible.
   
4.2  Lifeboats
   
At least once every 3 months during abandon ship drills, each lifeboat shall launch
and manoeuvre in the water 
   
Always follow the requirements below at least once every 3 months, or each month if possible and
reasonable:
   
      Launch rescue boats (besides Lifeboats, which are also rescue boats) with their
         assigned crew onboard.
   
        Manoeuvre them in the water
   
For lifeboats arranged for free-fall launching: 
   
      At least once every three months during an abandon ship drill, the crew shall
         board the lifeboat and secure themselves in their seats.
     
      Crew shall start launch procedures up to, but not including lifeboat’s actual
          release, then board the lifeboat   
   
      Free fall launch the lifeboat with only required operating crew on board, or lower it
          into water using secondary means of launching, with or without operating crew on
        board. After this, operating crew shall manoeuvre the lifeboat in the water.
   
        At intervals of six months or less, launch the lifeboat by: 
 
   Free fall with only operating crew on board, or
   
   Simulated launching, following the organization’s guidelines.
