Subject: Precaution when replacing the Engine Board

Model FS-C5016N/FS-C5020N/FS-C5030N

IMPORTANT:

Please take note of the following precautions when replacing the Engine board:

1) Do not replace the engine board and drum unit at the same time. The engine board has to be replaced
first and make sure the printer goes to “READY” status first before replacing the drum unit. The new Engine
board doesn’t come with the EEPROM chip therefore be careful not to damage the chip when transferring to
the new board. If both the engine board and drum unit are changed at the same time, C9530 error is displayed
and this cannot be reset in the field. If this happens put back the old drum unit and check for operation. If
C9530 error still persists, you have to send the printer to our main office and we will send it to KyoceraMita
Japan to reset the error code. You maybe charged for the expenses incurred.

Caution to replace EEPROM

1.Wear ESD band to eliminate electrostatic.

2.Observe correct EEPROM orientation when mounting and take
extra precaution not to bend the pins.
