ADC Marine Construction Manager

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Role Particulars:

Role Title:

ADC Marine Construction Manager – Deep Water Black Sea Port construction

Reports to:

CEO Construction Manager

Location:

Anaklia, Georgia

2. Organogram: (To show the role, its peer roles and subordinate roles - titles)

ADC Marine Construction Manager reports to CEO Construction Manager.

3. Purpose of role:

The ADC Marine Construction Manager Responsibilities are:


 Contracts management and ability to provide technical direction, assistance and corrective
action to Contractors. Understands the Contractors’ contract and scope of work and has the
ability to hold the Contractors accountable to their agreement.
 Reviews and monitors Contractors’ daily work and daily reports to ensure all information is
properly recorded on daily basis.
 Coordinates project resources to ensure completion on time and within budget.
 Ensures project execution in accordance with the project quality control plan and quality
requirements in the contract.
 Ensures that all works are in accordance with contract specifications.
 Resoles engineering matters concerning project execution, planning and site queries. (in
cooperation with the Engineering Manager)
 Informs the CEO Construction Manager on all relevant aspects of construction works in terms of
planning, progress, quality, safety and Contractors’ performance.

4. Key Decisions/ Accountabilities expected from role

 Defines and specifies quality and operational objectives.


 Processes to establish and maintain organizational structure and capability providing assurance
for the competency of personnel.
 Defines of accountabilities of personnel who attain quality objectives.
 Assists Landside Construction manager and/or other functional managers in delivering methods
to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of each process via audits and assurance activities.
 Manages and tracks Contractors’ performance and verifies quality of works done via checking
their performance in fields.

5. Key challenges faced on the role (In relation to section 4 above)

 Higher Education, major in Engineering/Management/Economics


 Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience (Construction Project Management)
 Mathematical and technical skills
 Ability to think methodically, plan and manage projects
 Negotiating, supervisory and leadership skills combined with the ability to delegate
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
 Working knowledge of MS word, excel, scheduling and document management
 Excellent communication skills
 An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers and problem-solving
 Familiarity with international rules, best practices and performance standards
 Project management and supervision skills
 Time management and organization skills
 Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
 Team Player
 Self-motivated, responsible, able to keep information confidential and secure
 A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards
 Available to live on site

b. Experience (years and nature)

12+ years of experience as a Construction Manager in international marine construction. Mature/Solid


knowledge of Engineering Rules, Standards and Safety Regulations on the International Scale. Thorough
knowledge of contract specifications, planning, budget, construction processes, HSES and quality
requirements, materials, equipment and tools.
