Guidelines and Rules

1. Questions shall be solely prepared by _________.


2. Contestants will answer the same set of questions in writing. Before a question is read, the
contestant must raise their right hand. Each contestant will be provided with a bond paper.
3. The question will be read twice by the Quizmaster. After the second reading, the Quizmaster
shall say “go” – only then will the contestant be allowed to write the answer. Automatically, the
ten-second time limit will begin with the word “go” by the Quizmaster. If a question requires
enumeration, the time limit will be extended to five (5) more seconds.
4. After the time limit, a buzzer will sound; the contestant should stop writing and raise their
right hand.
5. The proctors will go around and check the answer of the contestants. Proctors will be
provided for each contestant to ensure the correctness of the answer.
6. The contest has two (2) rounds, Level I and Level II. In Level I, twenty (20) questions will be
asked. Each question is worth one (1) point. After asking twenty (20) questions, the Quizmaster
announces the top five (5) contestants will advance to Level II. If there is a tie for the fifth (5th)
place, both will advance to the next level.
7. Twenty (20) questions will be asked in the second (2nd) round, by this time, two (2) points
will be assigned for each correct answer.
8. After the twentieth (20th) question, the three (3) contestants getting the highest scores in Level
I and Level II will be declared champion, 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up. Since there are only
three (3) places, should there be a tie, extra questions will be asked by the Quizmaster in order to
break the tie.
