Increase or Decrease the Size of EC2

EBS Volumes.
Step 1: Open AWS Management Console and Click on EC2 Service.

Step 2: Click on Instance on the left panel.


Step 3: Select the Instance. If it is in Running state then Stop the
instance and click on Volumes on the left panel.

Step 4: Select the volume. Go to Actions and click on Create


Snapshot.
Step 5: Give a Name and Description and click on Create button. Click
on close.
Step 6: Click on the Snapshots button on the left panel.

Step 7: Select newly created snapshot. Go to Actions and click on


Create Volume.
Step 8: Increase or Decrease the size and select the availability zone
(must be Instance AZ-zone). Click on Create.

Step 9: Now you can check your new volume is in Available state.

Step 10: Select the old volume. Go to actions and click on Detach
Volume button. Click Yes, Detach.
Step 11: Now select the New Volume. Go to Actions and click on
Attach Volume.

Step 12: Select Instance and Enter device type. Click on Attach
button.
Step 13: Now you can see your volume is in In-Use state.

Now you can Start your instance.
