Educational Philosophy
I believe that school should provide a safe space in which every student has the opportunity for intellectual, social, and
emotional growth. This growth takes place most effectively in a classroom the promotes inclusion, diversity, personal
expression, dignity, and the equitable treatment of students. I say “equitable,” not “equal,” because I believe every
student can succeed with the right support from their teachers, and that each student’s support should be tailored to their
specific needs. I also believe that I must continually improve my teaching through self-reflection, networking, and
attentiveness to the latest in best practices and educational research.
