series of events, both heroes’ lives are turned upside down and they realize that their misery
has been brought upon by their own choices. These two plays have a similar catastrophe that
involves the heroes’ wives committing suicide. While the conclusion, or resolution, of Oedipus
Rex and Antigone differ from the other, but both include a life of sorrow for the heroes until
they pass away.
