1 General Information Pulse Generator 2153

1 GENERAL INFORMATION

The pulse generator is used, if mechanical counting must be converted into electrical
pulse rates, to be electronically transferred and displayed.
Its main operational areas are gasoline pumps and industrial measuring systems.

The direction of rotations is given from an integrated needle free wheel. Two independent
phase shifted pulse series, given from an opto-electrical input system, allow a precise
pulse monitoring.

The housing consists of aluminium pressure pouring. For the mounting two metal
mounting plates with several drillings are included in the delivery, whereas a third
mounting plate can be ordered optionally. The pulse generator is connected to the
operation system through an up to 3,5 m long, 4-wired connection cable.

2 SAFETY REFERENCES

2.1 General safety references

In general The precautionary measures described in this guidance inform

you about the necessary care with the installation and start-up of
the pulse generator and about the necessary measures to avoid
risks.

Precautionary measures serve your own security primarily. They

protect at the same time in addition indifferent ones against
possible injuries and ensure a reliable enterprise of the system

Designates user indications and other one, particularly important,
information.

3 INTENDED USE

This product was developed for the employment within the potentially explosive
atmosphere in the flameproof enclosure packaging after EN 50014 and EN 50018 and
certified.

The pulse generator is used, if mechanical counting must be converted into electrical
pulse rates, in order to be able to display it electronically.
Its main operational area is the installation in gasoline pumps or to the measuring
chambers of tank cars.

CONSIDER!
The design inspection certificate and for the use and/or the targeted
application applicable laws and/or guidelines have to be considered.

In case of inappropriate handling and not intended use of the pulse generator the
manufacturer does not take over responsibility. In this case alone the operator is
responsible for damage or injuries.

4 INSTALLATION, START-UP

4.1 Requirements of the personnel

All employees who are concerned with installing, setting-up and the maintenance of the
pulse generator 2153, have to be trained and instructed for this activity and have to know
all possible risks.

CAUTION!
The maximum connected loads for the operating voltage are
described in the technical data. The indicated values have to be
respected strictly. For inappropriate use of the pulse generator the
manufacturer does not take over responsibility.

CONSIDER!
When connecting the pulse generator an assembly of metal on metal
has always to be ensured and so for the PE potential of the gasoline
pump. Therefore no special protective grounding connection is
intended.

5 MAINTENANCE

CAUTION!
At devices, which are operated within potentially explosive
atmosphere, no changes may be made.

The housing of the pulse generator is stuck and may not be opened.
Repairs at these devices are not possible.
