(a) An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying
principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.
(b) Ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with
consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social,
environmental, and economic factors
Intended Learning Outcomes (ILO)
ILO 1 Understand the load flow mechanism, identify loads on bridges and analysis of bridge
superstructure and substructure and the different construction methods in bridges.
ILO 2 Carry out a design of bridge starting from conceptual design, selecting suitable bridge geometry
to sizing of its elements

Assessment:

Pre-quarantine requirements/assessment
Class requirements submitted by the students before quarantine period will be assessed and
included in the grade computation of the students. These are quizzes, homework and problem set of the
earlier chapter discussed in class. Attendance is also included in the grade computation

Final requirement
Students will be tasked to submit a final project (Detailed guide on how to execute and perform
this project will be provided to the students on 4 May 2020) for the bridge design/analysis. This
individual project will be submitted on 1 June 2020.
Grading System:

Pre-quarantine requirements (50%)


Attendance – 10%
Quiz – 20%
Homework – 20%
