The industry that I have taken is “Automobile Industry” and the

company that I have taken is “TATA MOTORS”.

 PORTER’S FIVE FORCES MODEL

- Barriers to entry - There are very less chances to enter into

automobile sector because a huge amount of investment is needed, there
is no a large barrier entering into this industries for any company. “By
innovating new products and services, new products not only
brings new customers to the fold but also give old customer a
reason to buy Tata Motors Limited ‘s products.” There are so many
government policies to enter in this industry.
By building economies of scale with the goal that it can bring down the
fixed expense per unit.
Building limits and burning through cash on innovative work. New
contestants are more averse to enter a unique industry where the set up
players, for example, Tata Motors Limited continue characterizing the
measures consistently. It fundamentally diminishes the window of
uncommon benefits for the new firms in this way dishearten new players
in the business.

- Time and cost to entry

- Technology
- Economies of Scale
- Knowledge
- Cost advantages

 Threat to Suppliers- By building effective store network with

different providers. By trying different things with item structures
utilizing various materials so that on the off chance that the costs go up
of one crude material, at that point organization can move to another.
Creating committed providers whose business relies on the firm. One of
the exercises Tata Motors Limited can gain from Wal-Mart and Nike is
the way these organizations grew outsider makers whose business
exclusively relies upon them therefore making a situation where these
outsider makers have essentially less dealing power contrast with Wal-
Mart and Nike. Tata have large risk that consumer can easily switch their
preferences that means there is less switching cost. Consumers can easily
substitute if they get same car with different brand in less price.

- Number and Size of suppliers

- Switching cost
- Unique product and services
- Ability to substitute

 Threat to Buyers- By building an enormous base of clients. This will

be useful in two different ways. It will lessen the bartering intensity of the
purchasers in addition to it will give a chance to the firm to streamline its
deals and creation process.
By quickly advancing new items, Clients frequently look for limits and
contributions on built up items so on the off chance that Tata Motors
Limited continue thinking of new items, at that point it can restrict the
dealing intensity of purchasers.
“New products will also reduce the defection of existing customers
of Tata Motors Limited to its competitors.”

- Number of Customers
- Differentiation
- Price elasticity
- Brand identity
- Incentives
- Buying volumes

 Substitutes
Tata Motors can tackle the threat of substitutes :-

By being administration arranged as opposed to simply item situated.

By understanding the center need of the client as opposed to what the
client is purchasing.
By expanding the exchanging cost for the clients

- Buyer willingness
- Cost of switching
- Substitute performance

 Competitive Rivalry - “If the rivalry among the existing players in

an industry is intense then it will drive down prices and decrease the
overall profitability of the industry. Tata Motors Limited operates in a
very competitive Auto Manufacturers - Major industry. This competition
does take toll on the overall long term profitability of the organization.”

- Differentiation
- Exit barriers
- Switching costs
- Diversity of competitors
- Industry concentration
“I would like to invest in TATA MOTORS because it has its own brand value
and quality products. If I talk about the swot analysis of TATA MOTORS than
it signifies that it has more strengths as comparison to the weaknesses. It should
work on its weaknesses more and try to capture the market to grow the business
into the domestic and international market.”
