The Aspect Object Types supported by 800xA for AC 100 consist of the
components listed below.

Signal Object Types for Advant Controllers 100 Series

Signal Object Types represent signals from input/output channels but can also be
used for calculated data. The delivered graphic elements are adapted to the different
capabilities of the object types.
• Standard Signal Object Types, XDB-based
represent analog and digital, input and output data and stem from Extended DB
Elements configured in the AC 100 Series Controller. Extended support for
status supervision, alarm and event generation, limit treatment and operator
interaction is built-in.
– Analog Input AC 100 AIS
– Analog Output AC 100 AOS
– Digital Input AC 100 DIS
– Digital Output AC 100 DOS
• Standard Signal Object Types, DAT-based
represent analog and digital, input and output data and stem from MMI (DAT-
based) DB Elements configured in the AC 100 Series Controller. Compared to
XDB-based elements they have limited functionality and require additional
configuration effort in the controller.

3BDS013986-600 25
General Aspect Overview Section 1 Aspect Object Types and their Aspects

The subdivision into summary status and single module status is meaningful only
in case of redundant AF100 Communication interfaces and in case of
multiprocessor support. In all other cases (Advant Controller 70, Advant
Controller 110 or Advant Controller 160 with one AF100 communication
interface and one processor module only) the module summary status and the
single module status are nearly identical.

General Aspect Overview

Each of the 800xA for AC 100 Signal and System Status Aspect Objects (except
Grouping Objects) contain the following default aspects:
• The Control Connection Aspects contains the following attributes
– The name, data type, permission (read/write) and subscription update rate
of each attribute.
– A user interface to inspect the object type attribute information. It can also
be used to subscribe for the current value of each attribute.
• A number of display element aspects (Faceplate elements where relevant and
a number of additional graphical presentations).
• A Faceplate aspect (except for System Status Objects) can be used to view and
change the object value. The Faceplate can be viewed in three different modes,
normal, reduced and extended. Depending on the mode different amounts of
information and options are displayed in the Faceplate.
• An Icon Aspect.
The standard signal object types AIS, AOS, DIS, DOS, DAT_AI, DAT_AO, DAT_DI
and DAT_DO also include additional aspects such as:
• An Alarm List aspect (for the instantiated object). This aspect shows alarms

Name Aspect Section 1 Aspect Object Types and their Aspects

Name Aspect
The Uploader of the AC 100 AF100 Network object creates instances of Aspect
Object Types delivered with 800xA for AC100 (AC 100 Aspect Object Types).
These instances are grouped according to grouping and structure object types
described in AC 100 Aspect Object Types Overview on page 23 and named
according to rules described below. The naming rules can be subdivided according
to following schema
• fix names
applied to all ‘Structure’, ‘Summary’ and ‘Group’ object instances
• variable names
for all other elements which equal
– to the value of the corresponding DB Element’s NAME terminal or
– in case of DAT-based objects to the value of the corresponding DB
Element’s OBJ_NAME terminal. This allows to give the Aspect Object
instance the same name as for example the Analog Input Channel DB
Element.
The names are proceeded by their corresponding AF100 Bus-Number (NETW),
AF100 Station Number (NODE) and CPU Position Number (CPU) with 2 digits for
each number and separated by a Space character, if applicable.

In case of AC 100 Station Status Group the Station-Number is succeeded by 3

Spaces, in case of AC 100 Basic Station Group by 2 Spaces. This enables the
alphanumeric sorting algorithm of the Control Structure on System 800xA to
start with the AC 100 Station Status Group, proceeded by the AC 100 Basic
Station Group.

Section 1 Aspect Object Types and their Aspects Faceplate Aspect

Faceplate Aspect

AlarmControl
The faceplates of the AC 100 object types may contain an alarm control icon
indicating the alarm state of the object. The presence of the icon depends for digital
signals on the value of VALUE_TREAT and for analog signals on the value of
LIM1_TREAT / LIM2_TREAT. The icon is shown for
• DAT_DI, DIS, DOS and MBS in case of VALUE_TREAT = 2
• DAT_AI and AIS in case of LIM1_TREAT = 4 or LIM2_TREAT = 4
• AOS with ERROR_TREAT = 2
If any other value is set for VALUE_TREAT or LIMx_TREAT, no AlarmControl
icon is shown in the faceplate. The color of the Alarm Control reflects the priority of
the highest alarm condition of the object.

A white circle appearing to the right of the alarm
symbol shows that there are shelved alarms for
the object.

Section 1 Aspect Object Types and their Aspects Pin Button

Pin Button
A pin button has been added right of the View Selection Buttons to the faceplates,
which is not shown in the figures below. The pin button will pin the faceplate to the
workplace. A pinned faceplate will not be replaced when opening a new faceplate.
The new faceplate will be opened in a separate window. For details please refer to
the System 800xA, Operations (3BSE036904*)..

Control Connection Aspect Properties

The connection to the AC 100 Series controllers is determined by the OPC Data
Source Definition Aspect of the AC 100 AF100 Network Object for all its child
Aspect Objects.
The actual values of the different OPC items are accessed via the different
Properties of the Control Connection Aspect of the different AC 100 Aspect
Objects.
The following relation between the Control Connection Aspect of the Aspect Object
in System 800xA and the OPC item definition in the AC 100 OPC Server exists:

AC 100 Aspect Object AC 100 OPC Server Item

Control Connection Aspect OPC Item
= OPC Object
Control Connection Aspect Property OPC Item Attribute
= OPC Object Attribute

The Control Connection Aspect Properties are exactly the same as the OPC Item
(= OPC Object) Attributes.

Table 2 shows the Properties used for 800xA for AC 100 Aspect Objects.
