X-Noble Health

Love is the most powerful force in the entire world. It defies religion, race, gender, and social

expectations. This force, when it’s true and right, heals a person. It defines happiness and

contentment and could even bring color to a black and white world of a broken soul. Love could

also bring emotional wellness, which is perfectly part of the new health trends.

Firstly, we must come and answer the question of what is same-sex marriage. This is a marriage

between two partners of the same-sex. In short, a marriage between two women or men. This

could either be a civil or a religious setting, depending on the place, state, or country where the

couple would marry. Mostly a civil marriage is the only available for same-sex couples as

religious ceremonies are rarely offered. Going back through history, the first same-sex marriage

was in the country named the Netherlands. On April 1, 2001, the law came into effect and two

men from Amsterdam got wed. Everything else just came into a butterfly effect and other

countries started proposing and approving this law. Another important date is June 26, 2015.

On that faithful day, the U.S Supreme Court legalized this marriage in all fifty states. In recent

times, this has been legalized for over 20 nations worldwide, Canada, New Zealand, Germany,

and Argentina to name a few more.

Now that we have a basis on where this all started, we may now begin on how did this become

a health trend and how is it connected? Firstly, marriage is said to enhance the financial,

psychological and physical well-being of homosexuals. If these are enhanced, the result would
be that the person would become happy or even happier. According to research, child suicide

rates seemed to have drastically been reduced ever since this was established. Coming from

the nationwide data from across the entirety of the United States, starting from January 1999

to December 2015, the said reduction of rates that dropped is 7%. Minors who are homosexual

felt more accepted and welcomed by the world knowing that once they reach the right age,

they could marry the person they truly love.

Research has also shown that people who are associated with the LGBTQA+ community have

worse mental health compared to heterosexuals. As they often experience stress from

protecting and hiding their identity from a judgemental society, like internalized homophobia,

discrimination, and self-harm. This could often lead to mental disorders, like depression,

anxiety, and suicidal thoughts. Poor mental health could bring a person to do badly on their

performances and relationships, which brings a huge amount of attention as this is part of a

health issue.

By 2019, the stigma and idea of concealing one's feelings started fading as emotions are far

more welcomed. People could now speak about their internal struggles and reach for help,

love, and support. No longer is a person weak for displaying vulnerability and being emotionally

low. Evidence has shown that this is a human right. To recap a human right is a concept to

which every human being has universal; inalienable rights regardless of their culture, religion,

social status, sex, nationality, sexual orientation, and ethnicity. To deny them a right violates

this and if homosexuals cannot marry due to it breaking the social norms and them being

homosexual just shows the peak hypocrisy of humans.
