automation (EDA). The Integrated Electrical Systems Division (IESD) creates
software for design and production of the Electrical Distribution System (EDS) used
in cars, planes, and trains. IESD software captures and allocates electrical
systems & devices into platforms, then automates interconnection in a way that
supports all option and variant configurations. Designs are analysed for functional
compliance & reliability and then merged with mechanical models to derive &
engineer the wiring harnesses. Data is centrally managed and documentation
synthesised for onward use. A number of key posts have opened within IESD.

Vector fills out formats in Diagnostics

With version 4.0 of its CANdelaStudio tool, Stuttgart-based developer Vector has
expanded the range of diagnostic description data it can acquire in the automo-
tive development process.
Export and import interfaces to standardized and OEM-specific diagnostic
exchange formats have been significantly expanded in the new Version 4.0 prod-
uct and other changes include improvements to fault memory processing and doc-
ument compatibility. Several modifications were based on the results of customer
surveys that flow directly into tool development. For importing or exporting diagnostic description data, CANdelaStudio supports ODX
2.0, CDI, CSV and A2l. Export in OEM-specific formats such as MDX or SGM is also possible. Expansions in fault memory processing, e.g.
sorting by columns in DTC tables, are now available in the new version of the diagnostic tool. The Vector diagnostic tester CANdito,
