Entrepreneurship?
• We all are majoring in
business/engineering and want to
have our own business one day
• Entrepreneurship is “vital” to
economy and helps improve jobs as
well as standard of living
• “We are all born as entrepreneurs”
from Start Up of You
• Partnering with entrepreneurship-
based organization NFTE, located in
Chicagoland area
NFTE
• Based out of New York and has a
location here in the Chicagoland area
• Placed in high poverty areas in order to
help low income students become
successful with running their own
business
• Teaches students important
entrepreneurial skills such as flexibility,
collaboration, and adaptability
• Helps give students a chance after high
school if they don’t want to attend
college; they can have their own
business instead
Problems Today
• Chicago is a very unattractive place to
live because of unemployment rate
and poverty rate according to USA
Today
• Students in high poverty areas are
affected because after high school,
they can’t attend college
• With the economy constantly
changing, entrepreneurial skills are
skills for life and can help students
adapt
Possible
Solutions
• Northwest Indiana & Chicagoland area metro
schools can partner with NFTE to guide young
students that want to be entrepreneurs.
• As NFTE teaches students skills and financial
functions of a business, more students will want
to go to college or start their own business
• With young entrepreneurs becoming innovators,
they will transform the world into a better place
and stimulate the economy
• It’s a shame because Chicago is such a beautiful
city; with employment rising and poverty lower,
people would want to live there
 Summary & Call to
Action
• With more and more innovators in the community,
entrepreneurship spurs economic growth as well as
the standard of living
• NFTE is a very well-known organization that has many
testimonials and statistics to show the amount of
successful students they’ve had
• Students deserve a chance to become successful and
if they want to own their own business, they should
have the proper guidance
• If you want to be an entrepreneur, become one with
the tremendous service of NFTE and help your
community grow
