3.0 YANBU INDUSTRIAL CITY

3.1 Introduction:
Yanbu Industrial City is the First Smart City in Saudi Arabia. 40
years ago, a strategic decision was made to construct industrial
complexes throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support
and diversify the national economy.

A Royal Commission was established to lay the foundation of

strong industrial bases in the Kingdom, and to encourage
development in sectors including Industrial, urban, social, health,
education, technology and the environment.

Two New Cities, Jubail and Yanbu which were established back
2017 1985 1975
in 1975(1395 Hijri) by a Royal Decree - One on each side of the
country – are continuing to attract investor interest , as plans
continue to be implemented for their expansion.
