These important events that had an impact to the practice of Civil Engineering
here in the Philippines, was since 18 th century which they developed building towers,
roads, and bridges and started to authorize projects for irrigation, power, and flood
control. As the time passes by, the methods of independent practices still develop and
until now, they still keep on innovating ideas on developing the civil engineering practice
in the world especially the Philippines. The key events in the Philippines, was since the
Spanish came to the country, they started building churches with the construction of
wood and cane but failed to resist pressure so they started building stone churches
such as San Agustin Church, Santa Maria Church, etc., which was able to withstand
from different calamities. They started to innovate ideas of building church using
cement, hollow blocks or bricks and reinforced concrete.

The first three phases of Civil Engineering helped make the Information Age
better when it comes to their methods of individual practices in Civil Engineering.
Professionals back then, solved problems of basic systems and building great
structures. The Industrial Age also had a big contribution to the practice of Civil
Engineering when it comes to building water power, canals, railroads, etc. During the
Industrial Age, it helped using methods of building canals in order to prevent calamity
risks in the cities. Since 20th century, most of our technologies were developed to make
the constructions easier and better. These first three phases of Civil Engineering were
adapted by Information Age and helps Civil Engineers in the world to keep on thinking
ideas about better construction methods and its risks prevention and to make a better
future for the incoming future Civil Engineers.
 The future Civil Engineers in the world should take their discipline into a whole
new level as they face their future itself. High technologies had a big impact to every
construction and projects of Civil Engineers around the world which makes them easier
and better. There are many technologies in the future that can help future Civil
Engineers in their job. One of these technologies is an Artificial Intelligence which has a
potential to reduce human’s effort in every professional task in a way that it can collect
data which will determine situations in the project and help Civil Engineers what to do as
well. AI can help decide for what engineers can do in their every project which helps
them to make improvements in construction site and also serves as a learning
experience for them. Technologies in the future will help them a lot but might as well
don’t depend on it in order to have alternatives in every situation.
