Yoga Meditation improves quality of Teaching

Teachers are the makers of future Humanity. They are Acharyas to teach by setting
examples by their individual conduct as said "Acharanat Pathyati yah sah Acharyah”.
Teaching is an art which moves down from Intuitive to Creative to Intellectual Mind. A
child from the age of 3 to 10 years has his or her Super conscious mind more developed than
the conscious or sub conscious mind. So a child’s mind is more intuitive, innovative and creative
and less intellectual. In order to impart education in creative and intuitive way for maximum
output a teacher should enhance one’s Supramental, Subliminal and Causal subtle layers of
Super Conscious mind by some spiritual practice like Yoga Meditation.
Human Mind has basically 5 layers of mind known as Panchkosha. Other than this
Panchkosha the mind related to Human Body known as Annamaya kosha features the basic
animal instinct of Ahar (Food), Bhaya (Fear), Nidra (Sleep), Maithuna (Procreation/Mating)
channelizing which towards righteous pursuits (Human Dharma), one becomes Human as said
in scriptures:
Ahara-nidra-bhaya-maithunam ca
Samnametat_pashubhir_naranam आहारननद्रा- िय-। समानमेतत्ऩशभु िननराणाम ् च मैथुनं
Dharmo hi tesham adhiko vishesho धमोहह तेषामधधको विशेषो धमेण हीनााः ऩशभु िाः समानााः
Dharmena hinah pashubhih samanah
Means: Food, sleep, fear and mating are acts of Humans similar to animals. Human Dharma
(right conduct) is special thing above these acts, without dharma humans are also animals.

5 layers of mind or Panchkosha:

1) Conscious Mind or Kamamaya Kosha deals with sensing, desiring
and acting.
2) Sub conscious mind or Manomaya Kosha features the function
of intellect, memory, thoughts/thinking, contemplation.
3) Supramental super conscious mind or Atimanas Kosha deals
with creativity and Love & beauty of the nature.
4) Subliminal super conscious mind or Vijinanamaya
(Vigyanamaya) Kosha features intuition, innovations, inventions
and discoveries from the unknown Universe or Universal /
Cosmic consciousness.
5) Causal subtle super conscious mind or Hiranyamaya/
Anandamaya Kosha has the attributes of Devotion and
unconditional love for the Supreme and detachment and knowledge of cause and effect
of the universe.
A child up to the age of 3 or 4 years has only Subliminal and causal mind developed.
From 3 to 8/10 years the child starts inculcating the Supramental mind’s creativity and
spontaneity of nature and interprets the beauty and existence of nature in the form of Art.
From 6/8 years the intellect to understand the nature and universe and interpret it
intellectually through words and language starts developing which they inculcate from
environments, parents, kith/kin, educators/teachers and nature over all.
After puberty with the spur of the genetary hormones secretion at the age of 11 or 12 years
of age, the child starts developing conscious mind for Sensing by eyes, ears, nose, skin and
tongue and creating the desire by basic animal instinct of Annamaya kosha of food, fear,
sleep and sex/mating making one act through motor organs of hands, legs, vocal
cord/mouth or speaking organ, digestive organ/excretory organ and genetary/ urinary
organ.
Based on this natural system of Panchkoshas the education system from our ancient
Gurukula days was designed by our Gurus, Rishis and Yogis to educate with the science of
co-existentialism of nature and consciousness which can be termed as Neo-humanist
education. Neo-humanist education teaches the love for all creation right from humans to
plants, animals and entire animate and inanimate nature as the creation of one Supreme
consciousness or God (G for generator, O for operator, D for destroyer). In the British
regime it was Macaulay who in 1835 changed this nature and consciousness co-
existentialism Neo-humanist education which is still prevalent after 70 years of
independence right from Kindergarten Montessori schools to the professional education in
IITs and IIMs.
What we are teaching today is more informative and less creative, intuitive and
innovative as the education right from Kindergarten is more matter centered and self-
centered devoid of play way method creative education connecting with nature and
universal consciousness.
Hence, to rejuvenate and resurrect the creative and innovative education as of Gurukula
days we have to make Teachers teach as Acharyas by elevating their consciousness to
supramental, subliminal and causal layers of super conscious mind through Yoga-
Meditation. By the practice of Ashtanga Yoga Sadhana comprising Yogasana, Pranayama,
Dharna(concentration), Dhyana(Meditation),etc. based on Yama-
Niyama (10 principles of morality) one is able to develop the
control on the lower chakras associated with endocrine glands like
Testes in male and ovaries in female and adrenal glands below the
naval point. This channelizes the negative propensities or vrittis to
positive ones related to upper chakras associated with glands like
Thymus, Thyroid, Pituitary and Pineal glands situated above the
Anahata chakra or Heart plexus.
Yoga Sadhana should be done following the ethics and values of
10 principles of Morality, the Yama-Niyama.
Yama:
1) Ahim’sá: Non-harming in thought, word and action.
2) Satya: Benevolent truthfulness.
3) Asteya: Non-stealing.
4) Brahmacarya: Thought of Oneness with Universal consciousness.
5) Aparigraha: Simple living with controlled need.
Niyama:
1) Shaoca: Purity of mind and cleanliness of body and surrounding.
2) Santos’a: Mental ease and contentment.
3) Tapah: Social service taking penance forsaking one’s own comforts without any return.
4) Svádhyáya: Inspirational spiritual reading.
5) Iishvara Pranidhána: Meditation with consciousness that I & Infinite Consciousness is One.
Following such principles of morality when the Yogasana, Pranayama and Meditation is
practiced with Sattvika Ahar or sentient diet then the consciousness of the Teachers
elevates from the matter centered and self-centered materialistic world to God centered
Supramental, subliminal, causal Super conscious mind which is at par to the child’s mind.
The teacher is then able to impart the same education in creative and innovative way
making the child and teacher both realize the presence of Supreme consciousness in each
and every entity of the universe right from earth, water, air to plants, animals and humans
without the discrimination of caste, creed, gender, race, religion and nation.
There are three types of food.
1) The Sattvika Ahar or Sentient food is good for both body and mind like all fruits,
vegetable, grains, milk products, etc.
2) The Rajasika Ahar or Mutative food is good is for body if taken mildly but may or may
not be good for mind like Tea, coffee, spicy, oily and fried food and junked food like
Biscuit, bread, chips, bhujia, chops, patiz, pizza, burger, choumin, sweets, ice-creams,
candies, cookies, etc.
3) The Tamasika Ahar or Statik food is bad for the mind and may or may not be good for
the body like all non vegetarian food including egg, fish, chicken, mutton, beaf, pork,
etc. and all intoxicants like alcohol, tobacco and onion garlic and stale food.

The Sentient food is regulated eating which makes everything regulated with the Yogic
practice as says the scriptures:
yuktahara-viharasya yukta-cestasya karmasu
yukta-svapnavabodhasya yogo bhavati duhkha-ha

Meaning: Regulated eating and recreation, regulated in discharging duties for self
maintenance, regulated sleep and wakefulness, one diminishes all pains by the practice
of Yoga, a science of uniting unit consciousness with the cosmic/universal / infinite
consciousness.
