QUESTION NO.1
If given the chance to manage a school, what will be your 3 priorities
in the new normal set up of the DepEd?

Here are my top 3 priorities in the new ‘normal set up’ of the DepEd:
1. TRAIN THE SCHOOL’S FRONTLINERS – The Teachers
Since public and private school teachers are not used to the new of
modality of teaching (digital learning) in the new normal set up of the
Department of Education, it is essential that they must be introduced
to the other features of smart devices/technology, register to
Webinars or Web Seminars and undergo online-based trainings. With
these trainings, teachers will be able to implement the adjustments as
well as to prepare the needed equipment/facilities needed, if any.
2. COORDINATE WITH LGUs
Knowing that most of the schools nationwide were used as COVID-19
quarantine areas, it should be all decontaminated and well-disinfect
first before the school year starts and from time to time, with the help
of the Local Government of Units. Safety of our school community
must be our top priority.
3. ESTABLISH E-BOOK SYSTEM (for students)
Majority of the students are now granted with access to the use of
technology e.g. smart phones, tablets, internet. This factor can be a
supplement to implement the alternative electronic book system
designed by DepEd in different subject areas for each grade level.
QUESTION NO.2

Leadership is characterized by challenges and problems. As a leader,

what steps would you undertake to maintain/ increase the level of
achievement/ performance of your pupils amidst COVID-19 in the School
Year 2020-2021.

Being a leader/teacher, most especially in times of pandemic, is really

challenging; it requires a series of appropriate leadership skills to bring the
school, staffs and students to a high level of achievement.
Now, in order to maintain or increase the level of
achievement/performance of my pupils amidst the COVID crisis, it is vital
to: (1) conduct parent surveys to connect with students - parent surveys give
the parents a voice, a chance to participate in the process whereas we will
be able to collect feedbacks about what is, and what is not working and
for us to assess the success of the online learning programs (from the
parents’ perspective). As a leader, I will be able to introduce them to ZOOM
calls and other smart strategies as much as possible; (2) focus on learners –
always consider your learners and their profiles (What is their living situation?
What is their current emotional and mental state? How are they? Are they
safe? What is their level of exposure to technology?); (3) conduct follow ups
– give feedback to the students’ performance based on the activities given
online in order to point out the areas for improvement.
