Hypothesis

The hypothesis shows the possible explanation of the results of the study that will

be further investigated by the researchers.

The researcher will gather the results by conducting a survey among the participants.

The hypotheses posted are in the form of null and alternative hypotheses which

expressed in the following terms:

The hypothesis will be raised in the study and will be tested at 0.05 level of

significance.

Ho: There is no significant correlation between the independent variables

with regards to the level of disaster awareness and preparedness of the students.

Ha: There is a significant correlation between the independent variables with

regards to the level of disaster awareness and preparedness of the students.

Significance of the Study

There seem to be very little research conducted on this topic and particularly no

study has been done in senior high school sector of Pasig City Science High School, yet

the issue of disasters management is a troublesome national issue even a local issue.

The study findings bridge that gap and contribute to the general field of knowledge, which

is the main objective underpinning any research undertaking.

The research findings may be of utmost importance to the entire school

community to employ basic need approach planning theory that give priority to provision

of essential services such as security to plan for school activities to reduce the

vulnerability of the school premises to any kind of disasters. The school management or
