gether at home during the week. This tool is intended to help you lead a family worship time. Please go to God in worship as a family on a regular basis even if you do not use this re-

Devotional One, Read: Jesus sometimes taught in parables or stories.
These were confusing to some and crystal clear to others. As a family,
read the following scriptures to help you understand the parables.
Scriptures to consider: Luke 8:9-15; Matthew 13:10-11; Mark 4:10-11;
Matthew 16:17
Devotional Two, Pray: Just like Peter needed God to show him that Jesus
was and is the Messiah, we need God to give us understanding of His word
(especially the parables). Pray today asking God to show you the meaning
of this parable and what you should do because of it.
Pray to God asking Him to help you understand the parable of the sower
and the seed.

Devotional Three, Mold: Like a plant grows, we need to grow too but
we grow spiritually. This is the process of God molding us into what He
wants us to be like the way you mold a piece of playdough or clay into
what you want it to look like. Try this out by making a plant (rose, tree,
bush, you decide) work until you get it just the way you want it. Let this
remind you of how God wants to mold you.
Devotional Four, Memorize: Write down the memory work on a large
sheet of paper or chalkboard or white board. Have family members say
the verse and the Q&A. Slowly erase or cover up certain words.
Gradually cover more and more words until everyone can recite the
whole thing.

Mold: Mold your favorite plant

Devotional Five, Sing: I love hymns. Hymns are songs that people might have been singing for hundreds of years. One of my favorites is “ Just As I
Am.” With your parent’s help, look up this song on the internet or in a hymn book. See if you can find the story behind the song. Talk about this
song and what it means. A good resource is “www.cyberhymnal.org,” you can listen and read the lyrics and read about the hymn. See if you can sing
the hymn once you’re finished learning about it.
