11 And God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants[e] yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their
seed, each according to its kind, on the earth.” And it was so. 12 The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed
according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that
it was good. 13 And there was evening and there was morning, the third day.
20 And God said, “Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds[g] fly above the earth across the
expanse of the heavens.” 21 So God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which
the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
22 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the
earth.” 23 And there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day.
24 And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds—livestock and creeping things and
beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so. 25 And God made the beasts of the earth according to their
kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind. And God
saw that it was good.
26 Then God said, “Let us make man[h] in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the
fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping
thing that creeps on the earth.”
27 So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.
28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have
dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Earlier we saw the Ice Age video clip of Manny meeting Ellie. The funny thing is that she thought she is a possum and not
a mammoth.
A lot of people today rush to the WHAT AM I CAPABLE OF DOING, WHAT IS MY TALENT, WHAT IS MY ABILITY, WHAT AM
I SUPPOSED TO DO without realizing that they do not even know who they are? In other words, you are at lost with your
IDENTITY.
If we noticed in the passage we read, God created the animals according to their own kind. That means that they have
their own identity. We have the family of dogs, the family of cats, the family of worms, the family of birds and even the
organisms and the list goes on. And that includes us.
26 Then God said, “Let us make man[h] in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the
fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping
thing that creeps on the earth.”
27 So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.
In here, God ensure that our image would be from correct IDENTITY and that is CHRIST-LIKENESS. Amen?
Today, people hire image consultants to build their image. This is because our generation dictates that our images (what
others says who we are) is more important than character (who we truly are). That how we look outside is more
valuable than how we look inside.
“Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a
quotation.”
― Oscar Wilde
ACTIVITY (5 MINUTES):
What do you notice with the answers? We normally check on their ability, talents, habits, favorites, but not with
WHO SHE/HE really is.
1. WHEN YOU KNOW YOUR IDENTITY, YOU WILL KNOW YOUR PURPOSE.
When I say, air-conditioner, you know what’s that for?
When I say, motorcycle, you know what’s that for?
When I say, pencil, you know what’s that for?
When I say, concealer, you know what’s that for?
When I say,
1 Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly—mere
infants in Christ. 2 I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready. 3 You
are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere
humans? 4 For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not mere human beings?
WHO ARE WE? WE ARE OF CHRIST! Which means that our identity is in Him. Our lives belong to Him.
