    Sergei Rachmaninov was a late-Romantic Russian composer and pianist known for his large hands and four piano concertos.     After his first symphony (op. 13,
    1895, première 1897) got very Nikolai Dahl, who helped him
    bad criticism, Rachmaninov thanks with hypnosis and

    Rachmaninov rediscovered the
    pleasure of life and composing.
    In the spring of 1901, he
    finished his second piano
    concerto, that the audience
    adored! He dedicated it to Dahl,
    out of gratitude for curing him.
