The Introduction fully exposes the problem and its context. Background information regarding the
problem was introduced with documentation like news articles or literature.
The researchers ended the Introduction with their purpose or objective (example: This paper aimed
to study the effects of …)
The Main Question is aligned with the proposed Title (effect or relationship or comparative).
The Main Question offers the reader the study’s variables and locus.
The Specific Questions are listed in proper/logical order. Sub-variables are listed in correct format.
The Significance of the Study identifies two to three groups who will benefit from the study.
The Significance of the Study gives ample explanation on how the two to three groups identified will
benefit from the study. The explanations are concrete and not general statements.
The Scope identifies the topic, locus, population, and time frame included in the study.
The Delimitations identify the topic, locus, population, and time frame not included in the study that
are controlled by the researchers.

The research identifies one to two Relevant Theory/Theories from which the study is based on.
The theory/theories was/were properly discussed as to what they explain, and the context in which
they were developed. The paper also identifies the theorist/s and the year the theories were
developed.
The theory/theories is/are conceptually connected to the researchers’ focus of study.
Relevant Literature and Studies are properly identified and cited. Synopsis or synthesis of each
study is complete to include the focus of study, method, population, and major findings.
The similarities and differences between each study and the present study are identified for all cited
literature.
The Conceptual Framework is aligned with the Research Title, Main Question, and Specific
Questions.
The Hypotheses are aligned with the Research Title, Main Question, Specific Questions, and
Conceptual Framework. The researchers only wrote the null hypotheses.
The researchers identified key variables and sub-variables identified in the Main and Specific
Questions to be defined in the Definition of Terms.
Each term is defined with a conceptual/technical definition (with citation) and an operational
definition.
