ABSTRACT
Accessibility to basic healthcare is an important cornerstone of development towards building a
healthy future. As we know that India is a developing country and it is developing at a considerable
rate. In India, approx. 700 million people live in rural areas where the condition of medical
facilities is very pathetic and even where the facilities are available , they don’t have proper access
to them.
In the present scenario Indian rural health care faces a crisis unmatched to any other social sector.
Nearly 86% of all the medical visit in India are made by rural people with majority still travelling
more than 100 km to avail health care facility of which 70-80% is born out of pocket landing them
in poverty.
with the aim of solving the problem of lack of access to medical treatment to rural areas we came
up with a model of BIO AVM(Automatic vending medicine), as our this model is kind of a
ATM(automatic teller machine) which work slightly in similar way as ATM does but with a totally
different structure and process.
This machine is made to provide such healthcare at areas where having a medical store may not
be feasible or possible.
This vending machine is focussed on satisfying the drastic need for health care, doctors and
medicines. This device can be placed in rural areas and even in remote areas for providing instant
medicines with the help of doctor’s prescription in an effective way. The key objective of
developing this system is to reduce health care costs by reducing travel expenditures, prolonged
wait time and physician office visits, hospitalizations, and diagnostic testing procedures.
