1 Codes and Standards

As per EPC specification 01100.4, the design and specification of work shall be in accordance
with International Codes and Standards and applicable Government of Mongolia laws and
regulations, Schedule 21 Owners Standards and Procedures, and local codes and ordinances.
The CFB boilers shall be designed and constructed in accordance with the following codes and
standards:

Cranes, hoists, and lifts Mongolian General Agency for Specialized
Investigation (GASI) Legislation.
ASME code stamping for the pressure parts of the steam generator and the auxiliary boiler will
be adopted.
The main steam, reheat steam, extraction steam and feed water piping shall be in accordance
with ASME standard.
In addition, fire protection for coal handling systems shall be designed and installed in
accordance with NFPA Standards. Coal handling involves combustible dust and, as such, shall be
in accordance with NFPA 652, 654, 850, and other applicable NFPA standards and IEC 60079 for
hazardous area classification.
Electrical system design shall be in accordance with IEC standards.
All Civil / Structural works shall be designed, fabricated, installed and tested in accordance with
the latest editions of the regulations and codes, standards, and specifications, the document
hierarchy shall be Mongolian Codes and Standards, EPC specification criteria, GB codes and
standards. NFPA requirements shall be followed for egress/fire protection/HVAC design.

In the event of significant conflict between the reference codes and standards, specifications,
or manufacturer's preferred procedure, the following document hierarchy shall be applied:
(1) Mongolian Codes, Regulations, and Standards
(2) EPC specification criteria
(3) International Standards.
However, considering the fact that most of the equipment and material will be sourced from
China, hence Chinese material, design, test & acceptance code is also recommended to be
applied, subject to approval by the Owner.

The boiler feedwater pump discharge piping and feedwater
