READING COMPREHENSION:
CORONAVIRUS COVID - 19
UK schools will close from today to help stop the
spread of the virus COVID-19. On Wednesday, Prime Minister Boris
Johnson explained that he was doing this to keep everyone safe. He
said schools will stay closed “until further notice.”
Many children could be learning from home, starting on Monday.
This is to help slow the spread of a coronavirus called COVID-19.
COVID-19 has been in the news a lot recently. It’s a type of virus. It
can cause coughing, tiredness, difficulty breathing and a fever.
JuanThe virus can also cause more severe symptoms for people
who are already ill or elderly.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) say that most people recover
without needing any special treatment.
The WHO is asking people to practise something called social
distancing. This means keeping enough space between people to
help stop the virus spreading.

At the risk of spreading the covid-19, people take refuge in their homes
and decrease their activities by avoiding public places. In quarantined
cities, industries suffer from a lack of work, while tourism and commerce
suffer the most. Aggravating the situation, the resupply of products in
these areas can cause shortage problems and therefore the rise in prices,
although in our country it has remained stable (with some exceptions).
Indirectly, global value chains and the prices of intermediate products are
affected.

The global pandemic of COVID-19 is having numerous impacts, not only in

health terms, but also economic and social, and the latter includes
education that has been interrupted as a measure of prevention and
protection for students from acquiring this disease, for this reason, face-
to-face classes have been neglected and new alternatives are being
sought to supply this right of the students, therefore virtual
methodologies are being applied in all countries in order to continue
providing education to students. In our country a program has been
implemented by the Ministry of Education which is called "I learn at
home", which is broadcast by the state television and radio channel,
where small spaces are presented for teaching different levels of
education.

2. What educational strategies do you propose in the face of

this covid -19 crisis? (6 POINTS)

In these times, students have more facilities to have a mobile device, so it would
be more feasible than the teacher of their classes through the live broadcasts of
Facebook, since students will feel more comfortable having in front of their
teacher and they will follow what their teacher indicates, in addition that the
parents could also see how to reach the teacher's students. Students should
also be provided with audiovisual material, which further reinforces their
knowledge, this is also done through broadcasts (adding multimedia files), for
this, teachers should prepare more and be in accordance with the new demands
of this globalized world.
 3. What is your reflection on the following statement?(7

Diseases in most cases are recovered by the rest of the people, since the body
generates antibodies to combat some evil, and Covid-19 is not as dangerous a
disease as it is presumed, otherwise it is a mild disease that With a rest in
isolation, an immunity to this virus and the recovery of the individual can be
acquired, although this requires a few weeks of light healing to be able to
recover in their daily activities. To this we add that the most serious cases are
those that occur in people of very advanced age, these being a large minority
unlike the young people who can better carry this disease, it is also important to
emphasize that you must strictly comply with the social isolation measures
imposed by each government, in order not to spread the spread of this disease.
Much is said about the power of the mind and its repercussions on the
development of people's activities, and of course also in the field of health, since
we have seen cases of people who have recovered from serious illnesses, only
with the made to show a good attitude towards the problem because the one that
is happening.
