salvation that he revealed to man

We are all dwelling in health and
blessing as a result of God’s grace. We
give God all the glory for our family,
and are learning to count our blessings
and be grateful even in challenging
times.
Elishua turned 4 years in September,
and is pictured in the right in his fancy
dress. They had a dress up day at
school, and Elishua went as a
fisherman. We believe that he will also
follow Jesus to become a fisher of men.
Elishua also had projects in school in
which he received first place in his class
for recitation and singing. It is good to
see him excelling in school, as should
be for God’s people.
Shemaiah is climbing. He loves to
climb, and we expect to see him climb
the mountain heights in the spirit.
Shemaiah seems to fit into the society
very well here, and he can really eat
the spicy food like his mom and dad.

Shemaiah has also learned to tell Elishua,
“Daddy is the boss.”
Tehilah is growing faster than we can
imagine. She is very strong, and moves just
like Elishua did when he was her age. We
have thought at times that she is the Diang & Tehilah at Mattilang Park
female version of Elishua. overlooking Elephant Falls in

Ministry: Open Air meeting & Church Ministry
Actually, I am getting this newsletter
out a little bit late, but this is our
report for the summer season. I
have also included some things
concerning the autumn season,
and will speak in more detail when I
get that update out next month.
The Summer season is our rainy
season over here in Shillong which is
less than 60 miles from the rainiest
place on the earth. Sometimes it
feels like the days of Noah, which
may also correspond to the spiritual
climate that the world is
experiencing now. During this 3rd
quarter of the year we did mostly
church ministry which corresponds
to our vision for India which includes
equipping and empowering native
believers to experience victorious
living and reap the harvest in India.
Additionally, we had the
opportunity to minister for our great
friends Pastor Bantei and Judy
Diengdoh of New Life Triumphant
Church. They became my Khasi
parents before my marriage 5 years
ago as I was staying in their home
at that time. We joined them in an
open air meeting in one of the
centers of Shillong.
In the autumn quarter of ministry for
the year we continued exhorting
and challenging the believers to be
effective representatives of Christ.
Furthermore I traveled to
Hyderabad in the southern part of
India to minister. Also again I
ministered in Harvest Bible Training
Center, teaching on the subject of
Angels and Demons. In Addition to
these I also was invited to minister in
a youth camp. The interesting thing
about youth in India is that it is
basically unmarried people, so the
age is many times up to 30 years,
and maybe even above. Again it
was a profitable time of ministry for
sowing the Word and impartation.

A Teaching From God’s Word

The LORD’S Salvation
“Lord now lettest thou thy servant depart in
peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have
seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared
before the face of all people; A light to lighten the
Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel (Luke
2:29-32).”
This is one remarkable statement that was made
concerning Jesus shortly after his birth. Jesus was
presented before the Lord as was the custom
among the Jews, and being that Jesus was the first
child, the one to open the womb, he was
declared holy unto the Lord. Simeon had been
informed by the Holy Spirit that he would see the
Christ in his lifetime. And now that he sees Jesus,
knowing that He is the Christ, he makes the
statement, “…Mine eyes have seen thy
salvation…” Jesus is the salvation of the Lord.
When we celebrate Jesus we are celebrating the
Lord’s salvation. The salvation that has appeared
to men is the salvation of the Lord; a salvation Ministering at the open air service in Laitumkrah, Shillong.
which all men shall see. As Christmas approaches
many are caught up in all the things that they
have to do, and all the appointments that have to
be kept. Even as ministers we get caught up with
all the programs and all the work of the season.
People get preoccupied with shopping and

getting just the right things. In the midst of it all let us
remember God’s salvation. Jesus is the salvation
that has appeared to men. What that salvation
means to man is one outstanding thing that we can
understand this season. This brings up a point that
we can consider. What is this salvation? The Bible
speaks of so great a salvation. But what does this
salvation mean to you and me? From what exactly
have we been saved? We can begin by saying
that Jesus is God’s salvation saving us from our sins.
As it is written in Matt. 1:21, “And she shall bring forth
a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he
shall save his people from their sins.” Jesus was
manifested to destroy the work of sin, by making us
free from the power of sin. Jesus is God’s salvation
over sin. Jesus made us free from sin, setting us free
from the law from where sin got its strength. This
means that when we honor Jesus we also esteem
the salvation that God has extended to men
everywhere, that is a freedom from the law in which
the life is not dominated by sin, but is rather
empowered by God’s grace. We can begin to see
why Christmas season is to be a joyous occasion as
we celebrate the birth of Christ, what we are
actually doing is celebrating the salvation of God
empowering man with dominion over sin. This is the
whole point of what happened when Christ was
born. As Simeon said by the Holy Spirit, “…mine
eyes have seen thy salvation…” It was more than
just a statement, it was revelation from God. He
had been looking forward to the coming of Christ,
and when he saw Jesus he was satisfied that his
eyes had seen God’s great salvation as God had
promised throughout time. It is possible that he
began to see the prophesies of the Old Testament
flash before his eyes considering all that the
promised Messiah would mean to God’s people, as
Jesus was proclaimed to be “the glory of your
people, Israel.” Additionally he was said to be a
light to lighten the Gentiles. Jesus would be the
fulfillment of the covenant with Israel, and the
appearing of him would be the hope for those who
were bound in darkness as the salvation from all
their bondage, revealing to the end that Jesus
would be the Saviour of all of the world, especially
to them that believe. Jesus would shed light upon
the Gentile world, as he would be the revelation of
God manifested in the flesh, and the revelation of
God would begin to influence the Gentile world as
well. The salvation of God was never intended to
be shut up only for a race of people, but in
Abraham’s seed shall all families of the earth be
blessed. Jesus was the fulfillment which would
enable God to bless all the families of the earth.
Therefore we believe that the blessing of the
Lord which was made possible through Abraham’s
seed is the salvation of the Lord. This salvation is

found in One and Only One, Jesus Christ, our Lord.
During the Christmas season we remember the
Salvation of the Lord and we rejoice in the truth
that He has come and since He has come we have
the honor of life everlasting that is sharing His Life.
So the forgiveness of sins is only a beginning to
understanding the salvation of the Lord. As the
popular song goes, “…And man shall live
forevermore because of Christmas Day…” Saving
us from sins is only part of the salvation of the Lord.
For whatever held you in bondage can no longer
exercise dominion over you because of what Jesus
did for you. Let us look more into all that Jesus
accomplished for us in the example that he set and
the price that he paid and the gift of love in which
it was all wrapped. In John 3:17, Jesus explained
that He came not into the world to condemn the
world but that the world through him would be
saved. It was the great love of God for humanity
that filled the manger that day as Jesus was born as
a babe into the world, but knowing all the joy that
was set before him he endured the will of God. The
joy of the Lord included you and me, the people to
which He came to bring this great salvation. So this
salvation includes delivering us from our sins. Thank
God for that, but it also includes the blessing of
Abraham, as all those who believe are blessed with
faithful Abraham. The blessing is extended to all
that believe. Then this great salvation means the
eternal life of the Lord. This is the life that we begin
to experience the moment that we look unto the
Lord and we are saved. The salvation of God that
comes by the finished work of Jesus, is much more
than what we often realize. Even in Romans 10:9,10
it says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the
Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God
raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For
with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;
and with the mouth confession is made unto
salvation.” This salvation includes the fullness of the
redemption and new covenant provisions for which
Jesus has paid and has made available for your
benefit. This means that we can experience the
new covenant of life in the Spirit. This life in the Spirit
makes us free from the law of sin and death. It
gives us confidence before God that we receive
the things that we ask in prayer. It means that we
are protected and provided for. It means that we
have the ability to live in health and abundance.
The great salvation of God is manifested through
our confession. As we can see with the tongue
confession is made unto salvation. It is the season
to remember, but let it be a season that never
ends. When you are a believer in the Lord Jesus
Christ everyday is Christmas Day, because your
eyes have seen the salvation of the Lord. The
salvation, Jesus, abides in you.

 Extended Family
The last 2 months brought many changes to our home and
family. We had to make two family trips to Kolkata
(Calcutta) in order to get Diang a visa to return to the US,
because she was outside the US for more than 1 year. Also we
had to process Tehilah’s paperwork for obtaining a US
passport and exiting India. This became an extensive and
costly process, and was just finished in time for our scheduled
departure to the US on Dec. 26. We will be ministering,
visiting family and friends and completing paperwork during
our 3 week stay.
Another unexpected change to our lives was the addition of
our three nephews to our home. Through some difficult
circumstances regarding Diang’s sister we became responsible
for the care of her three boys until she has recovered and is
able to again take care of them. They are pictured along with
Elishua and Shemaiah in the picture to the right. We are
continually leaning to God’s grace as our family doubled
overnight.
