I. COMPANY BACKGROUND:
Young builders Corporation, is a privately held entity duly registered with the
Securities and Exchange Commission. Until October 1991, we were known as Youngs
Construction, a single proprietorship entity, founded in Cebu City by Mr. Alfredo Young
in January 1968. After completing our initial project, the 7-storey Emerald Building in
Cebu City, we diversified our operations in major cities of the Southern Region such as
Davao and Ilo-Ilo by undertaking the construction of several commercial building,
industrial factory complexes and residential dwellings.
In 1975, with our highly successful project in the south together with the sound
business prospects in the Northern Region, we decided to branch out our operations in
Metro Manila. The multi-million peso Emperor Textile Complex was one of our first
few projects. Afterwhich, we immersed ourselves extensively in the local industry by
performing myriad projects inside and outside Metropolis. Projects such as the 10 and 12
Storey Cathay Mansion I and II performed in 1978, repectively, the Aloha Plastics
Factory located at Paranaque built in 1979, the Paddocks Jeans and Complex situated at
Quezon City completed in 1980, and the Project-6 Public Market erected in 1981 have
enabled us to develop our manpower and gain the valuable experience and identity on the
local construction industry.
The resurgence of the Phlippine Economy in 1986 together with the speculated
construction boom in the first quarter 1987 highly influenced us to channel our efforts
and resourced into soliciting, bidding, and accepting large scale construction projects in
both Manila and Cebu. In 1987, using our own resources, we built the 37-units 3-storey
Gracetown Complex at Grace Village, Quezon City. In 1990, we completed the 16-
storey Metrobank Plaza in Cebu which we began constructing in March 1989. Also in
1990, we started the 12-storey Manila Doctors Annex Building at United Nations
Avenue, Manila completed in June 1991, the 22-storey Platinum 2000 Condominium in
Greenhills, San Juan Metro Manila completed in 1992. Moreover, we also completed the
2-storey Metrobank Colon, Cebu City Project which we started in 1992. In 1993, we
completed the massive SM Cebu which we started in 1991. This project alone has total
floor area 180,000 square meters and another 100,000 square meters of site development.
Further, in 1994, we completed the first phase of the Winland Multi-Towers
Condominium Project.
The current year 1995 has again proven to be a busy yet challenging and one for our
operations. In Cebu, we are currently building the second phase of the Winland Multi-
Towers Condominium Project, the 12-storey Holiday Plaza Multipurpose Building
project, and the 9-storey Cebu Emsu Hotel Project, and the Transdaewoo Passenger Car
assembly plant. On the other hand, in Metro Manila we are rehabilitating the Quezon
City Hall.
After Two decades in the construction industry, we face the future with dynamism,
optimism and enthusiasm. As always, we continue to look forward to serve the needs of
our present and prospective clients even better by offering top-flight construction services
backed by a well trained and dedicated manpower developed through performing projects
in Northern and Southern regions of the archipelago to the best of our abilities.
