C1: Outline a plan, which considers the use of resources and time, sufficient for peers to be able to follow to create the solution.

1. Describe​ all steps needed to create your product. In this step plan:
● List​ all tools you will need for each step.
● List​ all materials you will need for each step (where appropriate).
● Record​ the estimated time it should take to complete each step.
● Outline​ safety precautions for each step (where appropriate).
● Outline/describe​ what each step entails (bullet point sequence of smaller ‘sub-steps’).
● Present​ photographs and/or screenshots that illustrate the production process of your product (if found)
2. Summarize​ the materials and tools of the project in the following:
● Cutting List
● Tools List
3. Extension: Present​ photographs of your pattern & prototype (if complete)

Consider
Despite the fact that every student has their own project, it is likely your plan has some of the following ‘steps’:
- Create seams
- Iron fabric
- Mark out pattern A
- Cut pattern A
- Press seams on part A with iron
- Pin part A to part B
- Sew part A to part B
- Apply rivets/eyelets/snap buttons
- Sew on snap-buttons/velcro/zipper

How to make a Dust Mask

Overview of Project​ (a brief description of what are you going to make)
I am going to make a dust mask with the main body being black and the string will be white. Additionally I will add a moustache
on the side for extra design.

EX. Prepare fabric - Fabric scissors 20m Cut the legs of the jeans just below the pockets. Open the legs by
- Denim jeans cutting along the thick seam (inside leg).

Be careful with the rotary cutter so that your cuts are precise.

1 Create sewing -Marker 10m ● Trace 6 square pieces with a dimension of 65mm by
pattern -Cotton shirt 65mm on the garment
● Use marker to trace the 6 boxes
● Trace out a moustache 1 fourth the size of the box

2 Cut out Fabric -Fabric Scissors 5m ● Cut out each piece of fabric carefully
-Shirt with boxes ● Cut out moustache
traced ● Cut 4 square in a slanted angle
● Cut 2 squares in a shape of a string however a thick
sized string

Be careful when cutting with scissors

3 Color Fabric -black and white 30m ● Paint moustache white (Only one side)
paint ● Paint 4 slanted pieces black (Both sides
-Fabrics ● 2 strings white (Both sides)
● Wait for them to dry before next step

4 Stitch together -Sewing machine 15m ● Put string in between 2 pieces and using running stitch to
slanted pieces -Fabrics stitch string on (Don’t sew anything else)
● Stitch 2 slanted pieces together using overstitch and
leave the leave long flat side unstitched (Leave the
running stitch part alone)
● Do this all again for the other slanted pieces

5 Stitch together -Sewing machine 10m ● Line the 2 sides of fabric together till they are even
the 2 pieces -The 2 pieces of ● Use overstitch through the long flat side to stitch together
fabric from last step

6 Sew on -White moustache 10m ● Place the moustache fabric on the right side of the fabric
moustache fabric or when wearing the left side
-Sewed together ● Use overstitch to stitch it on (Use white thread so it
slanted fabric pieces blends in to the moustache color)
that should look like
a dust mask
