Exploration Geological Technician Intern at New Dawn Mining Corp Zimbabwe

covering Kadoma – Chakari & Shurugwi: May 2011 – December 2011
Main Duties, Responsibilities & Achievements
Conducted geological surface mapping & underground mapping and produced a surface
map of Derry-Mo area and routinely assisting geologist in underground mapping.
Used the right hand rule to measure geological structures using Brunton and Silva
compass
 Led a team of 5 assistants to conduct Bedrock sampling in Derry-Mo and Ultimus area.
Over 700 meters were sampled under my supervision
Collected Geochemical soil samples and routinely assisted the geologist in collecting chip
samples
Sited trenches by using G.P.S, compass and ranging rods and captured geological data in
trenches producing detailed trench maps of several trenches and excavations.
Core logging: Learning Methodology of Core logging and routinely assisting Geologist
Prepared National Diploma project for Zimbabwe School of Mines titled “Mineral
exploration in the Derry-Mo area”. The project consisted of a detailed surface map and
trench maps, which went on to delineate areas to focus sampling and thus providing the
exploration manager essential information for decision making.
