TRANSTRON, MOTOROLA , and we can
Carry on , So now we can see how many
systems there is for diesels , each with there
Own unique Features.
 In short , to Alter the way fuel is injected at specific time and
load of a engine .This is basics
 Of engine works, the complicated stuff begins in combustion
time and spray angles of injectors , Also is the type of system ,
pressure differences in each and every system differs , edc15c
example: up to 1300 bar limited : edc17c up to 1800 bar
limited ,edc16 uip internal pressure of injector up to 2200 bar
.So there is the difference . Time of injection + pressure = ?
 Simple answer is : lower the pressure more advance needed,
Why is this, sounds stupid, or is it . Time of injection is
critical to pressure as newer injection systems evolve . This is
not a theory it is fact .DRD DIESEL has experience in this as
we have found injectors failing in time , pressure tends to
drop and delay in time of injection , this is again critical as
pressure drops injection delay is admin.
 So here we go , remap of diesel ecu
 First customer needs power and Economy , we will
all love to have that , The word Power and lighter
on diesel is the main factor of Remapping , What if
you could have POWER , ECONOMY AND
RELAIBILITY , strong words this can be .How is
this possible you ask , through efficiency of The
diesel engine what the ----- is that ? This is fuel ,
timing , throttle , boost, delivery of injected amount
of fuel on amount of air taken in. Air fuel ratio with
pressure provided by the turbo .
 It is self explanatory , We care about the efficiency of
what we map , easy to put a vehicle on a dyno and
show a lot of power by mapping , the difference
between us and other Companies is that experience
in diesel systems common rail even Mechanical
systems and dyno of engines only (engine dyno) is
years of development and Involved in each and
every sector of building Excellent engines , this is :
Diesel Pump room , Engine Rebuild , Engine Dyno .
 This is all to get the Engine and Injection System to
work together Efficiently . Efficiency is :Engine
components , fuel injection system , turbo ,
intercooler , exhaust system , and intake system .
 This Efficiency story is getting boring , but it’s the best guide
line to work of . A vehicle Smoking is this Efficient or not , its
not .There is a timing delay , fuel quantity , turbo boost
pressure delay or insufficient air pressure supply or Volume
supply of air (cfc) .This is where Mapping makes sense , cubic
inc as the Americans call it , or capacity cc as what we know
(2000cc ) 2liter displacement . So as this is where the thru
colors comes out . There is in no way that 2.0l tdi can make
the same power as a V6 tdi as the cc differ . Displacement is
exactly what it says : Displacing from Injection system into
Combustion displacement , displacement from combustion to
Piston , displacement from Piston to crank to Exhaust to
Turbo from turbo to intercooler , and to intake of Engine .
AHA ,does it make sense why the Experts do the Remapping ,
we all don’t know everything , and strange thinks take place
in motors the same as people getting sick for no reason . Do
go to people who specialize in the Art of Remapping , and
make sure you Have a good reverence to work from .
 Here is why I am so admin about the right Choice :

Economy, Where is the Eficieciancy in this .Exhaust
temperatures or EGT as we know it tells a lot to this
story .
Efficiently
Remapping , lets start . Reading a Map of an ecu these
days are easy , older ways was to remove eeprom from
ecu and caused a lot of problem s . Eeprom , rom as we
call is the memory of the Processor , same way a
computer works with bios rom. Reading a Eeprom
(electrically erasable programmable read-only memory)
Erasable eeprom , so we work with Processor Infineon,
this has a password attached to open read capability of
eeprom , the right tool is required .
Kess v2 and Ktag works very good , this is
A Alientech tool .
Once a map is read from
Ecu then you need editing
Software , witch is very
Expensive if you buy the
Genuine software, you do
Get pirate witch is no good
To any Professional remap

Here we altered torgue limiters and fuel , timing and boost.
 Rpm vs timing fueling and boost + gear change
 Diesels rely on compression to burn fuel higher the fuel the more the power the
less the fuel the less the power , diesel can never run lean it’s a dead fact . The
lesser fuel no power , but the higher the fuel the higher the temperatures become
inside the combustion chamber no efficiency to the engine.
 Setting up a engine to get rid of lag on boost in low rpm , this is done by throttle
response and limiters , boost setup on VGT .No !! Don’t get fooled this is a fine line
on boost , fuel and timing .I discovered this on engine dyno , retarded timing heats
up exhaust temp and thus spinning up turbo very quickly, increased boost needs a
decent intercooler too .The theory of it all is retard timing burns diesel slowly also
causing no knocking noises ,remember low pressure alters timing , so by retarding
timing picks up boost if you drop the fuel pressure on the lower rpms and giving
fuel and changing timing to advance , it can be achieved . Bigger isn't always better
, Displacement again What we call volumetric efficiency :what the ---- you say
.Volume measured is not 100ml of Fuel going in to 24ml container it wont fit. So if
the intercooler witch is used by A Cummins 6 .9 liter engine is fitted to a 2.8
Toyota d4d engine it wont work Efficiently, why is that . The word Cummins 6.9
liter makes people think that the 2.8 d4d will give the power same as a Cummins
6.9 liter .An intercooler is designed for volumetric efficiency thus giving the right
amount of air flow to the engine . Take a compressor with a 200 liter tank and fit a
small compressor on it , how long will this take to fill . Intercoolers works the same
but with a constant relieve of air to the engine ,so is the opposite of slapping on a
bigger turbo it wont take lag away it will increase lag .
 This is what we call Engineering at its best .
