GENERAL GUIDELINES
The Competition
1. “RETRATO ATENEO” shall be carried out as part of the Non-Sports Events of the
Ateneo Fiesta 2017.
2. In this event, teams will be submitting photos they have captured during the Ateneo
Fiesta Week showcasing the spirit of the event.
CONTEST GUIDELINES
5. From November 30 – December 5, the participating teams must capture pictures of
events, moments and people during the Ateneo Fiesta. 2. The photos must be captured
using digital cameras. Phones and tablets are strictly prohibited. Photos must be aligned
with this year’s Ateneo Fiesta theme, “Buenas! Fiesta Atenista!”.
6. Both scanned/soft copy (in a CD or USB) and printed copy in 10R (10x12) of any
orientation must be submitted personally to the organizers. Submitted entries must be
RAW or UNEDITED. No filters are allowed to be applied in the capturing of the photo.
7. Each submitted entries must be placed in a short brown envelope. The envelope must be
labeled using the following format:
Title/Caption of the Photo
Name of Photographer
Organization Represented
8. Entries must be candid shots: not deliberately posed. Although some degree of effort
can be done in posing your subjects, we however discourage photographers to bring
their own models/talents like one would do on a photo assignment or photo shoot.
9. If there are identifiable people in the photo and was taken in a non-public space, it is the
responsibility of the photographer to obtain permission to use the photo.
10. Identifying marks, signs and address to insinuate in form of ownership is strictly
prohibited on the photo entry
DETERMINATION OF WINNER
11. A three member Board of Judges shall be carefully selected by the Contest Committee to
ensure fairness and impartiality. They shall be guided by the following criteria:
Visual Appeal 40%
Artistic Aspect 35%
Technical Aspect 25%
TOTAL 100%
PANEL OF JURY
12. The competition shall have a Panel of Jury for the purpose of giving independent and
intelligent assessment during the competition.
13. The Panel of Jury shall be vested with the immediate authority to clear or answer any
protest/clarification made by the participants and/or their respective coaches. In
addition, the Panel of Jury shall have the authority to give sanctions to any participants
they have witnessed violating any provision in this GM.
14. Among are the common violations (but not limited to) with the respective sanctions
(deducted to average/final score depending on the event):
Registration Violation: Disqualification
Participant Violation: Three (3) points deduction for each participant below the
minimum limit or above maximum limit.
Time Violation: Five (5) points deduction.
Guideline Violations: Three (3) point deduction for every violation
15. Violations other than those mention above will be reviewed by the Panel of Jury and will
sanctioned when a decision has been made.
16. Protests about the said event will be brought to the Panel of Jury for clarifications.
However, when the protest is still unsettled, the Grievance Committee shall be in charge
in settling the dispute between the parties involved.
