PERSONAL INVESTIGATION Monday 18TH May
Deadline: Monday 1st June
ARTIST RESEARCH
TASK: Select, research and analyse the work of an artist of your
own choice
This should be the same artist you created a copy from for last
weeks task
You need to include the following on your research page/s:

• Decorative title – try to keep the style of your written elements and titles consistent
throughout your sketchbook for consistency in presentation.

• Add your copy from last weeks task. If this does not fit on the page then have it
clear this links to your artists page. You can always create a flap/tie it in

• Analyse at least one image. Use the analysis guidance given on the next slide. It is
also worth emailing some questions if it is possible to contact the
artist/photographer/designer you are researching. Add quick sketches and close up
sections exploring style, colour and subject to visually dissect the work too using
appropriate materials.

• Keywords (at least 10) which describe the visual characteristics of the Artists style
and techniques

• Pictures of the Artists work (leave gaps for these if you cannot print at this time) but
find the pictures and save them ready to stick in when possible

• General factual information about his work and life

• The page/s must creatively reflect the style of the Artists work

If you are lacking materials and equipment you can do the following things:
•Work on the computer where you can

•Save work digitally to be printed out at school at a later date

•If you are working digitally try to plan out the layout of pages in your tracker
book so its quick to assemble when the time comes

•If you have been given a target of present work/print- i do not expect you
to do this at home if you do not have the facilities.

•There will be time allowed for you to catch up with missed elements or
elements that need refining because you may need assistance how to do
something
