NCLC SPORTSFEST 2020

General Guidelines & Mechanics of Events


As of January 27, 2020
I. THE NCLC SPORTS EVENTS
For Sports Events, we shall conform to the National Sports Associations (NSA),
International Federation Rules and Regulations as stipulated for each sporting event.
1.1 The following events are included in the Sportsfest 2020:
1.1.1 Men’s Basketball
1.1.2 Men / Women Volleyball
1.1.3 Men / Women Chess
1.1.4 Tug of war
1.1.5 Arm Wrestling
1.1.6 Sack Race
1.1.7 E-Games (Mobile Legends)
1.1.8 Singing
1.1.9 Logo competition

II. GENERAL GROUNDRULES


2.1 Each Team Must submit the line up before the Opening of the Sports
Fest and a copy of their Logo, and chosen color of the team

2.1.1 Points for General Championship

The following point system shall be observed in determining the General Championship:

2.2. Specific 4th Runner 10 Ground rules for
each sporting Up Points event will be
applied. In the No Entry 0 absence of ground
rules, updated and existing International Federation Rules will be followed.
2.3 Each player can play a maximum for Three (3) events.
2.4 In case of tie for any rank, it should be resolved by the following in order of
priority:

2.2.4.1 Number of Championships


2.2.4.2 Number of 1st Runner up Finishes
2.2.4.3 Number of 2nd Runner up Finishes

2.5 DEFAULT – A team that fails to appear during their scheduled time of the game
and after a grace period of Fifteen (15) minutes will be declared default in favor of the
opponent.

2.6 FORFEITURE – When a team becomes incomplete, it must employ substitution


through legal means, otherwise their game shall be considered forfeited.

III. TOURNAMENT FORMAT


3.1 ELIMINATION ROUND: Double round robin for ball games. Each team will
have a minimum of Four (4) games.
3.2 SEMI-FINAL ROUND: Format will be as follows:
1vs 4
2vs 3

3.3 CHAMPIONSHIP: The winners of the Semi-Final games will play (1) game for
the Championship.
3.4 BATTLE for 3RD PLACE: The losers of the Semi-Finals games will play one (1)
game for 3rd Place.

*Top one (1) team will have a twice to beat advantage (for Basketball,
Volleyball).

IV. RESOLUTION OF TIES

4.1 A tie shall be resolved by the following procedure below:

4.1.1 Rank the tied teams by the results of games among themselves; a winner is
placed ahead of a loser (win-over-the-other/head to head)

4.1.2 In case of multiple ties (three or more teams):


- Match Point (Wins = 2 Points and Loss = 1 Point, Default = 0)
- Set quotient: Set won over sets lost; point quotient of games of
involved teams.
- Point quotient: Points scored over points against

V. DECORUM OF TEAM MEMBERS

5.1 Each team is responsible for the behavior and actions of their team members.
5.2 Players/Coaches/Team Officials uttering derogatory words or profane language,
pointing an accusing finger/dirty finger, cursing the referees and other officials during
and immediately after the game shall be sanctioned or subjected to disciplinary actions.
5.3 Players who have been thrown out or ejected from the game by the referee/umpire
or due to unsportsmanlike behavior will merit a one (1) game suspension. He or she will
not be allowed to play in the succeeding game based on the game schedule.

VI. GROUND RULES PER SPORTING EVENT

6.1 Basketball (Men)

6.1.1 Team composition: there will be a maximum number of fifteen (15) players and
one (1) team leader. Official roster of players should be declared prior to the start
of the game.
6.1.2 There will be 4 quarters in one game. Each quarter will be played for 10 minutes
running time except for the last (4 th) quarter (Stop Time). The Coach/ Team
Leader can field in any player in each quarter. However, we encourage allowing
all players to play.
6.1.3 Jerseys are not Required; they can wear their Foundation T-shirt or Parade
Uniform and improvise a number at the back of their shirt.
6.1.4 2-3 Matches will be conducted during Saturday’s after Senior High School
Classes (for Senior High)

6.1 Volleyball (Men and Women)

6.1.1 Team composition: there will be a maximum number of fifteen (15) players and
one (1) team leader. Official roster of players should be declared prior to the start
of the game.
6.1.2 During the Elimination Round, games will be 3 sets race to 25 points (running
score). Deciding set (3rd Set) is up to 15 points only.
6.1.3 During the Semi-Finals & Final Round, games will be 5 sets race to 25 points
(running score). Deciding set (5th set) us up to 15 points only.
6.1.4 Junior High School Match will be conducted after classes in the Afternoon 4pm.

6.2 Chess (Men and Women)


6.2.1 TEAM COMPOSITION: There will be a minimum of four (4) members per Team 2
Boys and 2 Girls in the Official roster of players should be declared prior to the
start of the game.
6.2.2 Board 1 to Board 4, 10 minutes control time with no increment.
6.2.3 There will be a five (5) minute break after game.
6.2.4 If a team does not meet the minimum number of players, those who are
available can still play.
6.2.5 On tie break, Board 1 points up to Board 4 if still tied.
6.2.6 Each team shall declare the players from Board 1-6.

6.3 Tug of War (Men and Women)


6.3.1 Tug of war will be played in River Park
6.3.2 There shall be 8 pullers in a team with 2 substitutes.
6.3.3 There will be three pulls in every match

6.4 Arm wrestling


6.4.1 Standard Arm-wrestling rules will be followed.

6.5 E-games (Mobile Legends)

6.5.1 REGISTRATION PARTICIPATION


6.5.2 Teams can be consisting of 5 members (compulsory) and 2 substitute (optional)
6.5.3 This tournament is open for all students of NCLC High School.
6.5.4 Each team must commit to the time that has been set beforehand by the
organizers.
6.5.5 Team names/player names that are found to be offensive/vulgar will not be
tolerated by the organizers and a request of name change is allowed during and
before the competition, teams that are found not following this will be disqualified
immediately.

6.5.6 CONDUCT
6.5.7 Trash talking is not allowed. Offensive or harsh words will not be tolerated by the
organizers and may result to disqualification.
6.5.8 Players/teams must be responsible for each member’s actions. Any member within
a team that violates the player conduct will be disqualified from entering further
qualifiers and the current qualifier that the teams are participating at.
6.5.9 Players must be able to commit to the time/schedule mentioned in the tournament
platform. If unable to arrive at the said schedule, the team will forfeit the match.
6.5.10 Betting is strictly forbidden between teams and will not be tolerated.
6.5.11 Agreeing on losing on purpose will also be considered as a disqualification act
if found out by the organizers.
6.5.12 Teams are advised to be humble and to be strict with each other on enforcing
these rules for smooth flow of the tournament.
6.5.13 Teams that are found not following these conduct rules will be disqualified
immediately

6.5.14 TOURNAMENT BRACKET


6.5.15  There will be 4 teams each group.
6.5.16  All matches will be played online.
6.5.17 The tournament is in single elimination mode (Bo1) at round 1 and round 2.
The 3rd round will be double elimination (Bo1) and the championship will be best of
3(Bo3).

VII. FEES/ QUOTA


7.1 BASKETBALL / VOLLEYBALL: A Quota of 1000 pesos per team, per
event/ sports must be paid before joining the Game, No Quota No Play
7.2 E-GAMES (ML) 250 Per team
7.3 CHESS 30 PESOS PER PLAYER (for purchasing chess equipment’s)
7.4 T-SHIRT 250 pesos per each member/ Student, this will serve as their
uniform during the game
7.5 The following Sports are NO required QUOTA, Palarong Pinoy, and
Singing
