AudioBookMaker is a free tool for Windows devices which converts

books into audiobooks using a text to speech engine.

In some cases, when you want to go for a walk or jog or to take a

nap, audiobooks turn out to be quite handy thanks to their hands-
free/eyes-closed approach. (To stream Audiobooks, you can use
Audible for Windows 10.)
AudioBookMaker features

This software lets you create audiobooks from text files or text you
choose to add/copy to the program. The app supports plain text
format along with Microsoft Word and HTML files. No matter what
you do, you can create a new document and then add/paste text in
it directly. Alternatively, you also have the option of having the
program read Clipboard text aloud.

AudioBookMaker has controls for the following features: playing

text, selecting different voices, and changing speed, pitch, and
volume. You are able to change these for new documents and your
default values will become different from their initial ones.

Audio speech engine

AudioBookMaker recognizes installed audio speech engines from

the OS and lists them under voices. While audio output is
identifiable as computer-generated, it isn’t a surprise. The app
supports pronunciation dictionaries which you can add to the
program to customize the pronunciation of words, phrases and
abbreviations. You can also substitute words.

Once you’re happy with it, all you have to do is hit the save button.

Windows Explorer integration

AudioBookMaker supports the .mp3 and .wav audio formats, giving

you the opportunity to customize audio quality, file name, and
otherparameters.

More useful are options in the app’s preferences that include

Windows Explorer integration for an easier time adding text
documents, changing hotkeys and setting text pre-processing
process priority.

AudioBookMaker is a handy application sporting a simple process of

transforming text into audiobooks. While the quality of the output is
acceptable even if the results are pretty robotic, you can change
this by installing other text to speech engines on your Windows
device.

You can download AudioBookMaker from the tool‘s official website.
