actuarial documents: In which the producer has a share; is planted with certified seed; and is planted for
harvest as certified seed stock, or for human consumption. Potato Acreage that is inter-planted with
another crop, or planted not following specific rotation practices, and/or planted into an established grass
or legume is not insurable and is not covered under this policy. New Breaking Acreage can be insurable
if certain criteria are met, so discuss with your agent and see actuarials for details of insurability as
documentation is needed prior to Acreage Reporting Deadline of 7/15/2015.

Insured Crop Perils

Adverse Weather Conditions such as drought, excessive moisture, frost, freeze and hail.
Earthquake, Volcanic Eruption, Fire, Failure of Irrigation Water Supply, and Wildlife.
Insects, but not damage due to insufficient or improper application of pest control measures.
Plant disease, but not damage due to insufficient or improper application of disease control measures.
Unless control measures have been taken, these perils are not insured against. Any insurable
damage must be caused by an insured peril during the insurance period. Notify your agent within
72 Hours of initial discovery of damage and protect the crop from further damage by providing
sufficient care.

Insurance Period
Insurance coverage starts as of the planting date; however acreage must be planted on or before the final
plant date (6/10/2015). Coverage ends earliest of: (a) Total destruction of the Potato Crop; (b) Final
harvest date; (c) Final adjustment of a loss on the Crop; (d) Abandonment of the Potato Crop; or (e)
October 20, 2015.
Definitions
Approved APH Yield A yield based on producer actual production history, county average yields,
or a combination of both that is used to establish a producer’s production
guarantee.

Grade Inspection An inspection in which samples of production are obtained by us, or a

party approved by us, prior to the sale, storage, or disposal of any lot of
potatoes, or any portion of a lot and the potatoes are evaluated and quality
(grade) determinations are made by us, a laboratory approved by us, or a
potato grader licensed or certified by applicable State or the United States
Department of Agriculture, in accordance with the United States Standards
for Grades of Potatoes.

Harvest Lifting potatoes from within the soil to the soil surface.

Production Guarantee The number of hundredweight (cwt.) per acre, determined by multiplying
the approved actual production history (APH) yield per acre by the
coverage level percentage you elect. Production guarantees will be reduced
1% on Acreage or Units for every day planted after 6/10/2015.

Prevented Planting Your prevented planting coverage will be 25% of your production
guarantee for timely planted acreage.

Rotational Requirement Insurance will not attach to any acreage on which potatoes were planted in
each of the four previous years (see actuarials for county requirements).
Insurance Units
Basic Unit A Single Unit that all insurable Potato Acreage is covered under, in the
designated county by a share arrangement. Basic Units allow for a 10%
discount on premium.

Optional Units Multiple Units structured from Farm Serial Numbers @ Farm Service
Agency to allow insurable Potato Acreage to be split up on claims
depending on what FSN it is planted on, but strict production records must
be maintained by each variety as well as by FSN’s. Units may also be split
and established by Irrigated and Non Irrigated practice

***New Requirement - Conservation Compliance***

To be eligible for premium subsidy paid on your behalf by FCIC, it is your responsibility to assure you
meet all requirements for: (A) Compliance with the conservation provision; and (B) Filing form AD-
1026, or successor form by Jun 1st, 2015, to be properly identified as in compliance with the
conservations provisions. Refer to USDA/FSA/NRCS for details on the conservation compliance
requirements.
Record Retention
You must retain, and provide upon our request: (1) Complete records of the planting, replanting, inputs,
production, harvesting, and disposition of the insured crop on each unit for three years after the end of the
crop year, and (2) All records used to establish the amount of production you certified on your production
reports used to compute your approved yield for three years after the end of the crop year for which you
initially certified such records. Claims that equal or exceed $200,000 will require a High Dollar Claim
review that will require the above mentioned review of actual production records.

Options and Endorsements

Yield Adjustment 60% For units with a loss, if the true production is lower than 60% of the County
Average it will get replaced with 60 % of the County Average for methods
of calculating an approved yield and guarantee.

Storage This option provides 60 Days of Additional Coverage from the time the
potatoes are harvested and are put in storage. For potatoes harvested
10/20/2015, the final date would be 12/20/2015. Claims are payable from
damage that occurred during the insurance period (tuber rot) that doesn’t
become noticeable until the potatoes are in Storage under this 60 Day
Coverage.

Certified Seed This endorsement insures that the producer’s crop will meet Certified Seed
grading standards. The certified seed guarantee will be the same as the
production guarantee. Claims will be paid for produced seed that doesn’t
meet the State or U.S. Certified Seed Standards at $1.00 per cwt. rate.

Quality There are Quality Endorsements, which protect the grower’s quality for
both Fresh Market and for Processing. Must have endorsements elected
depending on intended use by sales closing 3/15/2015.

Please contact your Crop Growers LLP Agent to discuss options and endorsements available with this
policy for an additional coverage and premium.
