Abstract
Compressible flows are flows that involve important changes in density. To understand
this kind of flow it is necessary to combine concepts of fluid mechanics and
thermodynamics. In this practice we studied the behaviour of different properties such
as: temperature, pressure, speed, etc. Along the pipeline, different pressure
measurements were taken at different flow rates. According to the pressure
measurements throughout the pipe, it was possible to determine other data such as:
friction factor and Venturi pipe constant. To get the speed profile, Pitot tube was used
by placing it at different distances from the center of the pipe. So the main objective is
to determine the type of compressible flow at which the data was adapted and if it is
possible to model the flow as incompressible at low speeds.
