Course Description: Masterpieces in World Literature


A comprehensive study on the selected literary genres of the world. It focuses on the major divisions, classifications and
elements of literature and studies of ancient to contemporary genres.
Course Outcomes:
After completing this learning module, the students should be able to:

 Discuss the major divisions of literature, its approaches and its early literary influences;
 Appreciate the breadth and depth of World Literatures through answering the exercises;
 Analyze the different literary selection of the countries of the world (different cultures);
 Stimulate the minds and hearts of the learners to be aware of the different cultures of the world;
 Criticize the literary work of the different authors discussed;
 Enhance the awareness and importance of applying values learned;
 Apply the ideas learned through making a literary text; and
 Reflect on personal transformation along.
