Last update from the States!

My team and I depart for Durban, South Africa on Monday, January 10th! I can’t believe that the time has come for
me to leave, but I am excited to begin life and ministry in Durban. I look back at this past year and am humbled by
God’s faithfulness and sovereignty. It seems like it was just last year’s Christmas break when I told my parents that
I was going to do a STINT in South Africa. At that point, I had no clue what my team situation would be like, how
support would come in, or how anything would come together. In September, I was blessed to have 3 girls-Alyssa,
Kate, and Lauren-join my team and in October, finish raising my financial support. Those are just a few of the
details that I’ve seen God work out this past year. Thank you for all of your encouragement and prayer these past
months!

December was a busy month as I worked a part time job at

Peterbrooke Chocolatier, enjoyed time with friends and family during the
Christmas season, and continued to work on things for this upcoming year.
My family and I spent Christmas in Lake Placid, FL with both sets of my
grandparents, aunt and uncle, and other family friends.

I left for Atlanta Christmas conference on December 28th and returned

home on January 2nd. Over 500 students involved with Campus Crusade
from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Mississippi came to the conference and there is no
doubt that God moved powerfully throughout the week. The theme of the conference
was “Light of the World”. Students learned what Scripture says about being the light of
the world and how they could be a part of exciting ministry opportunities in the States
and around the world. Over $70,000 was pledged to give by the end of 2011 towards
helping women out of life in brothels in Mumbai, India, investing in ministry in Miami, FL,
and other mission projects. You can visit the ACC ’10 site at
http://www.atlantachristmasconference.com/ for more details about this years’
conference.

One of the highlights of the week for me was meeting my team! It was so good to be with them
and begin to get to know each other and prepare for ministry overseas as a team. Some of the
girls are finishing up raising their financial support. Thank you for your consistent prayers for
them. God has provided so abundantly and we are trusting Him to bring in the remaining of
their support within the next few days!
Let’s get down to business…
