TENDER No:05 (EOI)/ MYS/MAINT(U)/2012-13, Date: 20 / 07 / 2012

Subject: Supply and Installation of LED Lights

1) The Company:

Bharatiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran (P) Limited (BRBNMPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of
Reserve Bank of India is engaged in the Design and Printing of Bank notes and having one of its
Note Printing Units in Metagalli Industrial Area, Note Mudran Nagar, Mysore and registered office
at Bangalore, Karnataka.

2) The objective:

The Director (Operations), Bharatiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran (P) Ltd (BRBNMPL),
Mysore invites sealed Expression of interest (EOI) from the experienced supplier / contractors /
resourceful firms / organizations who has proven capabilities in both technical and financial for
Supply and Installation of LED Lights.

3) Preamble :

a) As an initiative towards energy efficient lighting, BRBNMPL intends to introduce LED lights
to replace HPSV, Metal Halide, Fluorescent Tube Lights etc,.

b) The invitation for Expression of Interest is to identify resourceful vendors, Types of LED
Luminaires available in the market etc, and to arrive generic specification and estimated cost
of the project before calling for competitive bids.

c) After having the technical details and approximate cost of the lights, the decision to
implement a trial project or direct adoption shall be decided.

4) Scope of work & Requirement:

Supply and installation of LED Lights:

 a) To study and measure the Lux level of existing HPSV, Metal Halide and Fluorescent
lamps to understand illumination level required at different areas.
b) To check existing cross arms fixed in the light poles, FTL fittings to offer suitable LED
fixtures /Lights matching to existing cross arms/fittings without any major modifications.
c) To offer suitable LED lights matching to above requirements with detailed technical
specifications, budgetary offer and Pay Back calculations.
d) To offer Buy Back scheme for existing Luminaires.

5) Eligibility for participating in EOI:

The Tenderer should be in the field of Design, Manufacture & supply (or) Supply &
installations of LED Lights and having following qualifications,,
a) Shall be in business in above field for at least Five years, as on 30/06/2012
b) Shall have record of sale of minimum 250 LED Lights of different kinds per annum.
c) Shall have ISO certification.
d) Shall have proof for Manufacturing or Procuring good quality LED from reputed suppliers.

Note: Documentary proof for the above qualifying criterion should be submitted along
with your offer duly signed by authorized signatory.

6) Details of documents:
Documents as mentioned in Annexures should be submitted along with EOI.

7) Procedure of Selection:
The offers received against this EOI shall be scrutinized for identifying suitable vendors, who
meets eligibility criteria mentioned in Clause (5). The details collected through this processes
(Expression of Interest) shall be used to draw a Generic Technical Specification of the
Product and estimated cost of the project. The procurement process will be through two bid
system (Technical and Price Bid). The eligibility criteria for Technical Suitability of Product
and Financial Soundness of the supplier shall be fixed , based on the details collected through
this process.

8) Other Instructions to tenderers:

a) Interested parties are requested to send their expression of interest (EOI) giving their proposal
to undertake the above work along with their credentials as per our requirements.
b) If the applicant is a company owned by another company, details of the ownership of the
company should be provided along with the complete addresses of the owners and their other
activities. Sub-contracting is not allowed.
c) BRBNMPL, Mysore reserves the right to qualify interested companies/organizations.
BRBNMPL may accept or reject any tender without assigning any reasons and without any

 information on National Security considerations or any other ground. After completion of the
EOI, BRBNMPL will approach the qualified firm/organization for issuing the tender
documents.
d) Interested parties may visit our press with prior intimation between 0900 hrs to 1600 hrs on
any working day to understand our requirements at their own cost before submitting their
proposal. For any clarifications, you may also contact Dy.Manager (Utility Maintenance) at

e) Clarifications, if required will be sought by BRBNMPL and the participants should be in a
position to respond within reasonable time period.

g) Any amendments / corrigendum of this EOI will be displayed only on our company’s
website: www.brbnmpl.co.in
h) All the costs and expenses associated with submission of EOI shall be borne by the applicants
submitting the EOI and BRBNMPL, Mysore shall have no liability in any manner in this
regard or if it decides to terminate the process of EOI on the subject for any reason
whatsoever.
i) The right to suspend the EOI process or part of the process, to accept or reject any or all EOIs
at any stage of the process and / or to modify the process or any part thereof at any time
without assigning any reason thereto is reserved by BRBNMPL, Mysore without any
obligation or liability whatsoever
j) The expression of interest and accompanying documents shall be submitted by post or
dropped in our Tender Box located at Administrative Building, in a sealed cover properly
superscribed as “Expression of Interest:-05(EOI)/ MYS/ MAINT(U) /2012-13 for Supply
and Installation of LED Lights”, so as to reach us on or before 29/08 /2012 by 1430 Hrs,
addressed to “The Director (Operations), BRBNMPL, Note Mudran Nagar, Mysore -570003.
EOIs will be opened on the same day at 1500 hrs.
