Prejudice:

Prejudice is when a person thinks an opinion on someone based on their


Race, Religion, Gender, Age, Disability, Marital Status or Sexual
Orientation.

Describe what is meant by the term Discrimination

Discrimination is when a person acts on their Prejudice thoughts.

AC 1.2 Explain THREE stereotypes linked to prejudice.

Prejudice stereotypes:
Example 1:

People think that all Muslims are Terrorists due to the 911.

Example 2:

All Disabled people are useless and wouldn’t be able to work as a result of
their Disability.

Example 3:

A group of Young People are getting up to mischief.

Explain THREE stereotypes linked to discrimination.


Discrimination stereotypes:
Example 1:

People getting of airplanes or being scared to be on an airplane because a


Muslim is on their flight.

Example 2:

An employer refusing to give a Disabled person a job in a shop.

Example 3:

Seeing a group of Young People walking with their hoods up and crossing to
the other side of the street and calling the police.
