the ship. It serves as the primary working surface.

A partial deck, above the main deck


and at the head of the vessel.

The windlass is on the foc’sle.


The Anchor
A device cast overboard to fasten it in the
ground and restrict the vessel’s movement.

Ex. The anchor is in the sea.


THE HULL
It is the watertight body of the ship below
the main deck.
