A Detail Lesson Plan in English

For Grade I

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, pupils are expected to:
A. Identify the objects that starts with letter A;
B. Write correctly the small and capital letter A;
C. Appreciate the importance of letter A through an activity called Draw me.

Now, let’s stand up for the prayer. (The kids stand and recite the prayer)

Oh okay, maybe I will just ask her parents

B. Motivation
Okay so this morning we will be having a new lesson.
But before that we will sing another song. We will
sing the Alphabet song. The song goes like this.

Up to the ceiling down to the floor


Left to the window, right to the door
Mama kiss me, papa kiss me
For I know my ABC (children are singing)
ABCDEFGHJIKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
Boys and girls come sing with me
Come and sing our ABC
C. Discussion
Base on the song, do you have an idea of what is
our lesson this morning? ABC teacher
Okay, so our lesson for today is all about the
letters in the alphabet. And today we will start
with letter A first.

So this is letter A.

Letter A is the first letter in the alphabet.


So this picture is the capital letter A. This one is
the small letter A.

Children at the back can you see this? Yes teacher!


Alright! So let’s say this is Mommy A and Baby A.
The sound of the letter A is /ă/
Everybody say “ah” “ah”

home so never hurt them and they will not bite

And A is for Ant!

Okay class! What is this in the picture? An axe!

Very good! This is an axe! This is used for what? Cutting wood teacher!
Very good! But this is not a toy, do not play with
this if you have one at home. Yes teacher.

So this also starts with letter A.

Exactly! This is an ambulance.

Let’s start with capital letter A.
Okay point your pencil here at the top and make
a line down. Then go back to the top and put
another line going down. Now find the middle of
the line and draw a line across.
Now who wants to try now in my big notebook? ( Children are raising their hands)

Now let’s write a small letter A.
Okay let’s start at the middle and go all the way
around. Next go up and then down.

D. Application

Now class, it’s drawing time!
