About Venture Gurukool Co-op Investment Fund-

Venture Gurukool is a sector and stage agnostic Venture Capital Fund which co-invests
with other VC Funds and adds value through its Operating Partners who have a stellar
corporate experience of several years in blue-chip companies. It helps the portfolio
companies by providing hands-on operational inputs from industry leaders, the network
connects to corporates, institutions, and investors for sustaining and growing them into
meaningful sustainable businesses.

Profile-
We are seeking a detail-oriented research analyst to join our growing organization. The
candidate will interpret, manage, and analyze research data in order to evaluate the deal
flow and make smart investment decisions. Working towards facilitating greater returns
through research and analyzing data of various sectors/ industries in India and Overseas.

Detailed Responsibilities:

 Proactively research market, trends and patterns on the most trending sectors and
opportunities.
 Identify and understand problems through forecasting, gap analysis, quantitative
reporting, research, and statistical analysis.
 Compile and analyze data points.
 Perform market research to help identify new investment trends and opportunities.
 Help support pipeline development, sourcing of early-stage companies in India.
 Gather information from the target company and industry experts.
 Conduct background checks on the current management of the target company
 Perform valuation analysis via modeling and help to prepare internal investment memos
 Cultivate a network of strategic co-investors globally, by collaborating with international
angel networks to participate in early-stage investments
 Be involved in liaising with co-investors, leading the closing process with entrepreneurs
and third-party service providers to ensure companies meet all regulatory requirements
for receiving foreign investment Add value to existing portfolio companies in India,
including strategic advisory support on operations, introductions to mentors, investors,
and potential partners, and actively partnering to help companies raise subsequent
rounds of funding and/or position themselves for acquisition.
 Research and talk with technical/business consultants to evaluate the target company’s
technology including IPs.
 Network with peers in other Venture Capital Firms

Skills Required:
 MBA or Bachelor's in Economics, Information Science, Business, Management, or
similar from Top Schools.
 1-2 years of relevant industry experience in consulting, research or investment banking.
 Outstanding critical thinking, analytical skills, detail-oriented, proactive and self-
motivated to design and execute on deliverables and manage investment closing
timelines.
 Strong knowledge of Excel including advanced function
 Experience with cash flow modeling and investment valuation techniques
 Strong written and oral communication skills
 Passionate about the India growth story and the start-up ecosystem in the country
 Curiosity and comfort in teaching yourself about varied industries; resourcefulness to
develop and maintain awareness of market comparable, transactions, and trends,
particularly where data may not be readily available.
