Thank you for your interest in our Parent Portal. This handy guide will walk you through some basics
in setting up a parent account, registering your teen for events, and paying for a BBYO membership. Remember,
you can access the Parent Portal anytime by heading to http://parents.bbyo.org. Parents should always log in
through this site. Our b-linked portal is only for use by our teen members. If at any time you experience any
issues that aren’t covered here, please don’t hesitate to contact our Customer Service team at
customer_service@bbyo.org. They’ll be glad to help you with whatever you need. Let’s get started!

Logging In...
If you’ve already created a
Parent Portal account, or think
one already exists for you,
logging in is pretty simple. Just
point your browser to
parents.bbyo.org and enter your
email address and password into
the login fields to the right of
the screen.

You will be taken to your

Parent Portal main page.
Congratulations! You’ve
successfully accessed your
account. If, for any reason, you
navigate away from this page, or
the system doesn't take you
there automatically, you can
always return here my clicking
on the MY ACCOUNT link at the
top. From this page, you’ll be
able to edit any of your contact
information, see all of the teens
connected to your parent
account, search and register for
upcoming events, and pay
membership dues. There will
also be a news feed on the right-
hand side of the screen that will
keep you up-to-date on
everything BBYO.
Forgot Your Password...
Did you forget your password?
No problem! Just click on the
I FORGOT MY PASSWORD link
under the login box, fill in your
email address, and click SUBMIT.
The system will send you your
password automatically.
If you’re not receiving emails
from BBYO, please check your
email security settings to add us
as an accepted sender.

Creating a New Account...

If you’re new to the
Parent Portal, you can create a
FREE account quickly and easily
by clicking on the REGISTER
NOW link under the login box.

On this page, just fill in all of the

fields with the appropriate info
and click SIGN UP!.
A confirmation email will be sent
to the address you provided.
Just click on the link supplied in
the message, and your
registration will be complete!

One quick note about email addresses…

Our websites (much like many, many other websites) uses your email address as your unique identifier.
Since it’s impossible for any two random people to have the exact same email, this is the best way to keep
track of everyone using a particular system. For this reason, we ask all of our users to use their own unique
email address when setting up an account. Using a shared email address or a “family” email address will,
unfortunately, not be possible. If you need to create your own email address, there are many free email
account sites available, such as Hotmail, Yahoo, and Gmail. They’re all quick and very easy to use!
Adding Teens to Your Account...
Now that you’re logged in, you
will be able to see any teens that
have been attached to your
account. On your main
account page, you’ll see the MY
TEENS section. Here, you’ll be
able to see a snapshot of your
teens’ profiles, and will tell you
their membership status, as well
as any events that they’ are
registered for or are considering,
and any events that are coming
up in your area. Your local BBYO
office usually will have
connected any family members
together in the system ahead of
time. So when you log on for
the first time, your teens may
already be waiting for you on
your main page. If not, you can
easily find and connect with
your teens from your main
account page.

Clicking on the ADD A TEEN

NOW link will open a search box
for you. Just type in your teen’s
email address, first and last
name, and zip code, then click
on the FIND TEEN button. After
a brief search, the system will
give you a message that it found
a teen that matches the search
criteria. Click on the ADD TEEN
button that appears, and your
teen will now show under you’re
my TEENS header! If the system
doesn’t find a match for the
information you supplied, don’t
worry! We may have a different
email address for them. Just let
your local BBYO office know, and
they’ll be happy to let you know
what email address we have on
file. You can also contact
Customer Service to find out as
well.
Becoming a BBYO Member...

Through your Parent Portal

account, you can help your teen
become a full member of BBYO.

If your teen is not yet a paid

member of BBYO, you’ll see a
PURCHASE MEMBERSHIP button
under their name. Just click on
this button, and you’ll be taken
to a Payment screen where you
can choose your dues structure
and become a BBYO member.

After you click on the PURCHASE

MEMBERSHIP button, you’ll be
taken to this information
screen. Here, you’ll fill in your
information, as well as the
information for your teen,
including their email address.
This information should already
be auto-filled. If not, or if any
changes need to be made,
simply add the info into the
correct box.

After all of the required info is

filled in, click SUBMIT , and you’ll
be taken to the payment screen.
Becoming a BBYO Member Continued...

Here on the payment screen,

you will be given a chance to
review all of the info you’ve
entered about yourself and your
teen, and can make any changes
if necessary. Then, you will
enter the CARDHOLDER’S
information, the credit card info,
and choose which dues structure
you’d like to purchase.

We offer two dues options:

$75 will purchase a one year

membership

$149 will purchase a high school

career membership (2 or more
years)

These membership option are

described in greater detail
below...

The $75 dues option:

This option will begin at the start of the SCHOOL year, and not from the time of purchase. This means that
a one year membership purchased in the fall of 2010 will expire in the summer of 2011, and only cover the
current school year, regardless of when it was purchased in the fall.

However, a one year membership purchased in the spring (after January 1) will be extended to the
FOLLOWING summer. So, a one year membership purchased in the spring of 2011 will not expire until the
summer of 2012.

The $149 dues option:

This option is the best value for any underclassmen considering becoming a member of BBYO. When this
option is purchased, the membership will not expire until your high school graduation, regardless of when
it was purchased. So, if you are a sophomore and purchase this option, you will be a BBYO member until
your graduation 3 years from now. On the same token, if you are a freshman and purchase this option,
your membership won’t expire until your graduation 4 years from now.
Registering For Events...
Under each of your teen’s
accounts, you will see a column
labeled EVENTS. Here, you will
be able to see any events that
they are registered for or are
considering, and any events that
are coming up in your area. This
is an abbreviated list, and will
only show some of the most
recent events that will be
happening. To see a broader list
of events, and to search for a
specific event, just click the
SEARCH ALL EVENTS button right
next to the EVENTS header. If
you see the event you’re
interested in, just click on the
event name and you’ll be taken
to that event’s main page.

Here, you will be able to read all

about the event, as well as
register your teen for it. There
will be a list of your teens to the
left, and under each eligible teen
will be a REGISTER AND PAY FOR
THIS EVENT button. Clicking on
that button will take you to the
registration and payment
section for that particular event.
Registering For Events Continued...
Once you click on the Register
and Pay button, you’ll be taken
to the registration page. Here,
you’ll verify your teen’s
information (which will already
be auto-filled for you), as well as
let us know of any special
dietary needs and food allergies
you may have. Any other
specific questions the host
region needs you to answer will
also appear here. Once that’s
done, you’ll click NEXT and be
taken to the payment screen.

On the payment screen, you’ll

enter the CARDHOLDER’S
Information, not your teen’s!
Then you’ll check off the
payment amount, enter any
extra amount you’d like to
donate to your region, enter the
credit card info, then click PAY.
This will process your payment,
as well as send the cardholder a
confirmation email.

Congratulations!
You’re teen is registered!

This event will now show next to

your teen under the
I’M ATTENDING header.
Registering For Events Continued...
Once you’re teen is registered,
you’ll be able to go back into
that registration to pay any
additional amount if you
originally only paid a deposit, as
well as fill out any required
forms, and edit any info required
for the event.
PAY NOW will let you pay any
additional amounts owed.
SUBMIT FORMS will let you
electronically sign any required
forms, as well as download any
supplemental forms.
EDIT INFO will let you add any
additional info required for the
event, such as t-shirt size, room
requests, bus stops, etc.

We hope this quick run through will help you in getting started with Parent Portal and BBYO. Remember,
