Practice Presentation – 10 points


• Speaking Task – 4 points. Score based on the criteria attached
below
• Listening Task – 4 points. Please see task sheet below. You
must visit at least 2 posters and fill in a table with information
you get from the presenters. Your score is based on
percentage of task sheet completed. For example, if you visit
2 posters and complete 50 percent of the task sheet then your
score will be 2 points
• Poster – 2 points. If you complete your part of the poster you
get 2 points. If you do not complete your part of the poster
you get 0 points

Final Presentation – 10 points


The criteria are the same for the final presentation as the practice
presentation except that you must visit at least 2 different classes.

Project Reflection – 5 points


You will make a 1-minute speech reflecting on your project. Criteria
will be similar to the criteria for the project presentations.

Score Criteria
4 A presentation at this level is in English only and rich in
content. Is easily comprehensible. Makes use of gestures,
greetings and conversation strategies including telling a
story in a dramatic way. Student responds accurately to
questions and requests for repetition or clarification. Has a
good flow. No grammatical mistakes cause problems with
comprehension.
3 A presentation at this level is in English only and contains
good content. Is comprehensible. Makes use of gestures.
May contain unnatural pauses and mispronunciation but
none cause comprehension problems. Some grammatical
errors may cause comprehension to be difficult.
2 A presentation at this level is in English only. Contains some
content. Is comprehensible. Makes use of gestures. May
contain unnatural pauses and mispronunciation which cause
some difficulty in comprehension
1 A presentation at this level is presented in English only but
contains some Japanese fillers (エート−, あんおー etc).
Lacks content. Comprehension difficult. Presentation weak.
0 Student unable to talk about poster. Minimal response to
questions. Minimal use of English.
