UNIT: Section 10– TECHNOLOGY AND THE GLOBAL BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT

GOALS: This unit should help students to:

 Differentiate between E-commerce and E-Business.
 Appreciate the importance of technology in businesses
 Understand the ethical implications of ICT
 Value the role education plays in growth and development
 Develop and understanding of economic problems and solutions within the Caribbean
 Understand the importance of international trade
 Appreciate the roles and functions of economic intuitions in the Caribbean

RATIONALE: It is important that students comprehend this unit as it will allow them to gain an understanding and appreciation of the role and functions of technology in
business. This unit will help foster and encourage students to adopt appropriate and acceptable attitudes, values and ethical practices in relation to business activities. Additionally,
students will gain insight into international trade and the economic institutions available in the Caribbean. This unit will provide a good foundation for students that will be
furthering studies in Management of Business as well as Entrepreneurship.
