This easy recipe for gingerbread men makes great Christmas presents or decorations - perfect
Ingredients
350g/12oz plain flour, plus extra for rolling out 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda

1.Add together the flour, bicarbonate of soda, ginger and cinnamon and beat into the bowl of a
food processor. Add the butter and stir until the mix looks like breadcrumbs.
2. Lightly stir the egg and golden syrup together, add to the food processor and pulse
until the mixture clumps together. Tip the dough out, knead briefly until smooth, wrap in
3. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F. Line two baking trays with greaseproof paper.
4. Roll the dough out to a 0.5cm/¼in thickness on a lightly floured surface. Using cutters,
cut out the gingerbread men shapes and place on the baking tray, leaving a gap between them.
For decorations, use a skewer to make a small hole in the top of each biscuit.
5. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly golden-brown. Leave on the tray for 10 minutes
and then move to a wire rack to finish cooling. When cooled decorate with the writing icing and
cake decorations.
A tender cut of beef is a little bit of luxury and this is the perfect main course to
cook for a gathering of friends at Christmas.
Ingredients
For the beef:
½ tsp sugar
1. Preheat the oven to 220C/425F.Rub the fillet of beef with plenty of salt and
pepper and the oil.
2. Heat a large frying pan until very hot. Roast the fillet on all sides until
browned. Transfer to a roasting tin.
3. Place the fillet in the centre of the roasting tin, arrange the whole garlic
bulbs around the fillet and drizzle with a little oil. Bake for 23 minutes for
medium-rare (only 20 minutes if it is a long, thin piece).
4. When the beef is cooked, remove from the oven, cover with aluminium
foil and leave to rest for 15 minutes.
5. Serve hot or you can leave it to cool, and then wrap in more foil and place in
the fridge to cool completely.
6. To make the sauce, cut the roasted garlic bulbs in half horizontally and
the garlic paste from each single clove into a bowl. Add the mayonnaise, crème
fraîche and sugar.
7. Blend to a smooth purée using a blender or food processor. Add in the wholegrain
mustard. Chill until ready to serve alongside the beef.
8. Carvethe beef into thin slices just before serving.
Platain Cake
Ingredients
2 Ripe platains
Panela
Cinnamon
2 eggs
125 g of cheese
Butter
¾ Of cup of milk
1. Preheat oven to 125 degrees
2. Add in a bowl 2 ripe platains with some of panela, a cinnamon stick and a little
water
3. Simmer until platains are soft
4. Wait for to cool and make a puree with the cooked platains
5. Grate the cheese
6. Stir 2 eggs
7. In one bowl add cheese, milk and eggs and stir it
8. Take a kitchen mold and grease and flour with butter
9. In to the kitchen mold pour the mix with milk and puree
10. Bake for 40 min
